Trattoria San Carlo is a traditional restaurant that serves locals and visitors in Genoa. The serves of pasta come with pesto and make an interesting lunch or dinner. Pesto is a mix of basil, pine nuts and some other interesting herbs and spices which have been pounded with mortar and pestle. Genoa is the historic capital of Liguria; it's been an influential port for international trade. It's said that Christopher Columbus set out for the Americas from Genoa. Liguria is also described as "the Italian Riviera."

Locale nel centro storico, a pochi passi da piazza De Ferrari. Servizio veloce e competente. Discreta scelta di vini e bollicine. Il menu non è molto grande, vi sono quattro proposte per antipasti, primi, secondi e dolci. Questo però non è affatto un limite. Quasi tutti i piatti sono della tradizione gastronomica genovese e soprattutto sono buoni! Infine i prezzi sono onesti. Un ristorante da consigliare e dove portare sempre gli amici di fuori che vengono a Genova. Bravi!

28/07/2024: Spacious room. Friendly staff, kind and quick in bringing what you order. Good and plentiful food, great beer and cocktails. The owner Sally is super nice and kind. I will definitely go back.

08/08/2024: An underrated place. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, a bit away from the main road and the main tourist traffic. But the restaurant is first class. Very delicious food, served quickly. Service as expected, prices normal. I'm delighted!
