We came to the restaurant based on our host’s recommendation, and we weren’t disappointed. The food was excellent—the pasta dishes were not the typical tourist options like Carbonara or Bolognese, and the service was also outstanding. What did spoil the experience a bit was the house white wine served by the glass—I strongly advise against ordering it. It’s a shame that such a detail slightly diminished an otherwise great impression.

We had no doubts since the reservation. The dinner completely confirmed our expectations. Friendly staff. Quality food. Prices, nowadays, unobtainable. From the appetizer to the dessert everything was delicious. It is worth walking a few minutes more; at least you have time to digest! See you next time!

A friend encouraged us to try this spot ~20 min walk from Ponte Vecchio - well worth the travel. Was my favorite meal I had in all of Italy. Fresh, hot, homemade - the staff kindly split the dishes into two portions for us: we shared the caprese salad 🤌🏻🤌🏻 molto bene freshest tomatoes and basil, ragu tortellini pasta (can’t stop thinking about this) and meatballs. Had cheesecake for dessert it was to die for. Highly highly recommend. Friendly servers, truly felt like an authentic home cooked meal. Affordable for so much food + bottle of wine. A must go while in Florence! Call to make a reservation because it gets busy! Great local spot.

The service is impeccable, familiar without ever being intrusive; you immediately feel like a welcome guest, not just a customer. And then, comes the cuisine. A triumph of robust and genuine flavors. I savored a cuisine made with the heart, where the raw materials are excellent. From pappa al pomodoro, which tastes of home and tradition, to the classic tortellini in broth, perfect in their balance, passing through the fragrant tagliolini with truffles to a veal liver of unforgettable tenderness. Every bite is a rediscovery of the tastes of the past, with generous portions that fill the plate and the heart. Everything is done with mastery and passion. Trattoria da Ruggero is not just a dinner, it is an experience that warms the soul. It is the reason why one falls in love with Florence and its gastronomic culture. Absolutely not to be missed. The food is really fresh and everything just so delight even the environment got old money still that you can see this is the place quiet authentic! If you are at area this is the place you really have to go
