Trattoria Praetoria In Aosta

I had dinner at Trattoria Praetoria with the kids, and overall, it was not life changing. The service was okay, the waiter didn’t volunteer their best dishes dispute me asking multiple times. Just pointed to which ever ones were not pork. The ambiance is average, which is definitely ok if the food is amazing. The food was decent but nothing memorable. My kids didn’t like their pasta at all—they somehow managed to mess up plain penne with cheese, turning it into something closer to a white sauce. The waiter also got my starter order wrong, so I ended up with a whole cheese dish—not what I wanted, even though it tasted good. My main was good flavor-wise, but the portion of meat was a bit low. And I generally don’t like meat in sauce. Not a place I’d go back to but not disappointed by it either.

Highly recommended. The food (I had vitello tonato and then sausages in tomato sauce) was excellent. This was complemented by an outstanding Chardonnais from the Aosta Valley. The small outdoor seating was shaded by plants. Always worth a visit to beautiful Aosta.

The location, right by the Porta Pretoria and right in the beautiful center of Aosta, is definitely a big plus. The food was very tasty, and the menu offered a wide selection. However, the service was a bit lacking in quality. Hence, one star deducted.

Rustic and good Italian cuisine. According to regulars, this is like family and one of the best-value restaurants in Rome. My father and I were thrilled.

Trattoria Carina, specialmente nella parte sotto nelle vecchie cantine dove puoi mangiare le specialità della zone - esempio fonduta. Buoni anche i Rosti serviti con lardo e castagne in miele. Proprio in centro accanto al vecchio porto romano. Prezzi medie. Servizio molto buono e staff gentile.
