The food is excellent. I don't know what the wine is like because I don't drink alcohol if I have to drive like so many others do in Italy who then crash into guardrails and kill innocent people... 🤷 If you have to drive to Milan and already start drinking wine here, I don't know how far you'll go... ..hoping you don't kill innocent people.. 🤷

Local honest dishes. At lunch full with locals and that says enough about the quality of this trattoria Pappardelle al cinghiale (wild boar) you have to try . Also the antipasti platter was very good. Fair prices, also for the wine. Friendly service.

I'm editing my review from a couple of years ago to say that I've been recently and everything has changed for the worse. A side dish of simple, tasteless boiled carrots, priced at €4, is a prime example, as if it were a real side dish! Avoid.

On our way to Tuscany, we were waiting to pick up our car at Chiusi, while the rental company took their mandatory two hour afternoon siesta. We chanced upon Trattoria Porsenna when looking for a lunch place and to also spend the two hours. This is by far the best meal we have had so far in our two weeks Italy trip. Thank you for a lovely meal, superb service and your kind hospitality while we waited. Great food and super value for money….Just fab!

The photos of the menu on Google don't match what you'll find on site. You might expect a budget-friendly establishment, but that's not the case. Perhaps the profile should be updated to be more accurate.

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch and had the two-course lunch menu. And because everything was so good (freshly cooked!), we treated ourselves to a "Torta della Nonna"! We're already looking forward to next time...😀

11/11/2025: A very cozy and well-kept place, in step with the times. We tried the Roman-style "Mortazza" and vegetarian pork crancio, both delicious. The former is very crunchy, while the latter is softer due to the larger amount of vegetables. Quick service Highly recommended.
