We met up in Bologna for lunch with a friend of mine and decided to give this trattoria a try. The result was extraordinary. Authentic place, friendly service, excellent dishes with generous portions, and prices that seem to have never seen inflation.

Great food, delicious and large portions at an affordable price. The place is run in an old-world atmosphere, homely and family-friendly. Very friendly and helpful service. I definitely recommend it! While in Bologna, we tried several recommended restaurants, but it was impossible to get a reservation anywhere. If you're not looking for gold doorknobs but for good, regional food, this is the place for you. We paid €35 for dinner for a family of four, including water and a portion of dessert.

Absolutely fabulous, delicious local food, large portions, definitely worth the trip. The people are extremely kind and helpful! 100% recommend!!

Amazing local place to try very tasty dishes for amazing prices! I also really appreciated the 0,5l of wine for 4€ and I also thought the owners were very nice. Definelty try this restaurant if you are nearby!

What can I say? Crazy place...I'll definitely return! Excellent food, super friendly owner. The post-trip dinner made me regret not finishing late and having to eat in Bologna.

Una persona che abita a Bologna mi ha consigliato di andarci quando passavamo da lì e aveva ragione. Cibo abbondante, prezzi onestissimi, piatti della tradizione. Qualità degli ingredienti medio alta cucinati ottimamente. Il posto è semplice ma accogliente a conduzione familiare il personale è gentile e genuino senza troppe formalità inutili.

20/08/2025: We had the tasting menu. Everything was good, but the star for us was the lemon tart. It tasted great, though we later realized there was no lemon curd. The crunch and the (mascarpone?) cream did all the work of delivering that lemon tart flavor. Stefano and Salvatore were super kind and even shared a few recipe hints.

31/08/2025: tortellini was fine but sauce was plain The lasagna texture was too soft Mascarpone cream was excellent, not the airy stiff kind, just cream texture, but seriously good and the chocolate works very well The mascarpone cream is worth a visit, the rest are average standard for bologna
24/08/2025: It never fails, even a short walk away from the touristy areas pays huge dividends. In this case, a short walk from the main square lands you at the doorstep of Osteria Santa Caterina. An incredibly friendly and helpful staff will guide you through a very typical menu for the region done very well. We had a wonderful meal and wish we could go back tomorrow.
