My husband and I dined at this restaurant on Saturday, November 15th because the old-fashioned tavern-like setting appealed to us. The 4 stars I give for the service are due to the fast and polite staff. Otherwise, the experience wasn't convincing. We ordered two first courses: orecchiette with horse meat (decent) and 5 tortelloni (that's what they call them, but they're as big as the Rana tortellini!!!!!!!!!!!!) with burrata and beetroot on a tomato sauce that was overly flavorful, accompanied by a basil pesto that overpowered the flavors. The bombetta on potatoes and turnip greens was decent but too dry; I don't know if they were reheated in the microwave. The prices are too high for the dishes offered and certainly not tavern-style.

We went there for dinner. Since it was full, they took us to a wine bar half a block away. We thought it was a courtesy while we waited, but it wasn't. The risotto was exquisite. The desserts were forgettable. The service was good. The atmosphere was very nice.

Probably the best restaurant of our 10 days in Puglia! Hearty, traditional, tasty dishes, we had a great time, from fish dishes to tiramisu and chicken roll with cheese... Mama mia :)

Very average welcome as well as the quantities on the plate

It's a traditional osteria, where the food is good. The interior is poorly ventilated, as there are no windows and air comes in only through the door. There are, however, three tables on the street, and it's pleasant to sit there. We had fava beans and chicory, and it was delicious! The service wasn't too slow, especially considering how crowded the place was. The price is average. What I didn't like was the 250ml bottle of water, which cost the same as a 500ml.

In Monopoli, in the historic center, we came across this delightful restaurant. The food was good, the service was perfect, and we'll be back.

I agree I don't understand poor ratings. The food was amazing. Took the advice of others on here and got the lemon risotto and was not disappointed.

We had a incredible lunch. One of the best meals during our stay in Monopoli. Staff was amazing. I actually left my phone behind and the waitress protected it like it was her own. So grateful for her kindness. Highly recommend!
