A must try place in Rome! Lovely atmosphere & staff: we had an outstanding starter, a fresh rabbit & vegetable salad, accompanied by the duck and the melt-in-your-mouth saltimboca! Highly recommend it, but make sure to book in advance as the place lives up to its name & reviews!

A local Roman recommended this place and he was spot on! I reserved a few weeks ahead of time and we sat at our table upon arriving. Amazing eclectic wine selection. We had starters and two traditional Roman pasta dishes. Cacio e pepe and amatriciana. Over the top delicious. The service was perfect from the lovely lady manager/owner? as well as the wait staff. I would return in a heartbeat.

E' e resta una delle migliori trattorie di Roma. Ottimi i piatti della tradizione, in questo caso la gricia. Molto molto buona anche la pajata. Degno di nota anche lo stracotto di pecora. Carta dei vini in linea con il locale, con un occhio anche sulle etichette regionali.

13/05/2025: 5 Star Review – An unmissable osteria even outside the center! We discovered Osteria SanMarzano in a quieter area of ​​Rome, away from the chaos of the center, and it turned out to be an excellent choice! The place is very clean and well-kept, with a welcoming and familiar atmosphere that conquers from the first moment. We started with a truly exceptional cold cuts platter: a selection of the highest quality, served with attention and taste. For the first course we followed the advice of the staff, always kind and prepared, and we tried the matriciana, a great classic of the Roman tradition: simply excellent, tasty and perfectly balanced. An osteria that absolutely deserves a visit, even if outside the historic center. An authentic pearl of Roman cuisine.
11/05/2025: Good restaurant, recommended. I have never eaten such a good and crunchy GIUDIA-STYLE ARTICHOKE. The first and second courses of meat are good. The chicken cuts are also excellent. A bit of confusion on Saturday evening, but it's ok. Friendly, smiling and helpful staff. We will gladly return.

12/05/2025: Nice place, pretty, veeery busy! We were lucky to go early so we got a table right away but later on I saw queues waiting outside. The guy who served us was super nice! We ordered two mains and a salad but for some reason They brought us the salad and bread and said that they cannot bring the food together for lack of space and they will bring it in 10 mins. To be honest I think there was enough space for everything.. We ate the salad but it took ages to bring us the food and as a result we were full. I asked the girl if the food is coming cause maybe they forgot, she was a bit rude telling me that it takes time to cook it but it had been ages since we ordered it and people around us that ordered 5 mins ago got their food. Anyway finally the food arrived but as I said we were too full to eat it. Luckily when I asked for a take away box they were very cool about it but I made sure not to ask that girl from before. Sooo the food was ok, nothing too special. Salad was nice and liked the bread a lot. The men of the stuff were very nice, the girls not so much.
