Trattoria Morello In Messina

My wife and I were struggling to find a restaurant open on a Monday afternoon until we found this gem. My wife, who has Sicilian family members said this tasted just like a home cooked meal! You can see the cooks in the back making everything fresh. The service is great and they make you feel like you’re eating at someone’s home. Definitely a must if you’re visiting the area!

A small and cozy place. Their kindness is very rare these days, and they were very helpful, allowing us to have lunch even at an inconvenient time. The first courses were excellent, as were the second courses. They also gave us complimentary sweets and liqueur at the end of the meal. The owner of the place, who took our order, was truly unique. Thank you so much, and if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

Signora Maria, the expert hostess, and her son Michele in the kitchen, have transformed a small but welcoming room, seating 30, into a gem of Messina's dining scene. Thanks to my friend Michele for this extraordinary discovery. Traditional cuisine: a selection of varied and well-prepared appetizers, a truly amazing pasta e fagioli (pasta and beans), tasty desserts, and a fair price. Final verdict: EXCELLENT. We found this restaurant by chance, inspired by the positive reviews. A pleasant discovery: excellent food, beautiful and distinctive service, and a small, intimate atmosphere. The waitress served us with a passion, kindness, and friendliness that are hard to find, making the lunch pleasant and relaxing. The owner is a friendly and very sweet lady. Highly recommended.

I ate at La Trattoria Morello for the first time a full 25 years ago. I discovered them by chance, and as only rarely happens, I fell in love with it immediately. For years, it was my go-to place for business meals, family lunches, or whenever I wanted to surprise someone with a memorable invitation. A few years ago, I started traveling, and my visits to the Trattoria came to an abrupt end. I finally managed to return for lunch today, and it was a tremendous pleasure to discover that the welcome, the delightful feeling of dining with family, the quality of the ingredients, and the care taken in preparing the dishes have not only remained exactly as I remembered, but have even improved, if that's possible. If you're passing through Messina or if you live there and have never dined at LaTrattoria, I highly recommend you try it at least once. You'll fall in love with it like I did.
