A wonderful evening of authentic, familiar Lucanian flavors. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and the owners, who shared stories of tradition and family, transporting us back in time. Everything was mouth-watering, especially the meatballs with Grandma Michela's sauce and eggplant parmigiana... BRAVE. Highly recommended.

Welcoming, both for the atmosphere and the very friendly staff. The appetizers are top-notch, with eggplant parmigiana rolls getting an A+, and the meatballs and rolls with Grandma Michela's tomato sauce are spectacular. Anyone visiting Matera can't miss this opportunity.

Trattoria storia di Matera a un passo dal centro e dai Sassi. Ambiente ampio, familiare e accogliente. Personale gentile e molto attento. Piatti della cucina locale ottimi, molto curati in ogni dettaglio e abbondanti. Siamo stati veramente bene. Ristorante molto consigliato!!!

Buona trattoria tradizionale. Probabilmente per forestieri ma non turistica vista la grande presenza di piatti tradizionali e anzi arcaici. Tenete presente che non si può prenotare quindi andate sul presto perché è un posto conosciuto. Ben presentato e buono il cibo. Scenografici e buoni i dessert. Servizio cortese e simpatico. Personalmente non gradisco che funghi e salsiccia vengano accompagnati dal pomodoro ma si tratta di gusti e la pasta nel complesso non era cattiva ma piuttosto non si sentiva il sapore di funghi e salsiccia. Prezzi un po’ alti ma siamo a Matera e se dovessi ripassare da quelle parti tornerei

09/12/2025: They'd told us about it before we even left, so our expectations were high. Well...it exceeded all expectations. The quality of the food is excellent. You can taste the deliciousness, the products are local, and I must say, everything is excellent. The preparation and presentation of the dishes is meticulously crafted, and they provided clear information about their provenance. From the cheeses and cured meats to the starters and desserts, everything is top-quality and has unforgettable flavors. The local wine is also very good. Not too expensive either. Personally, I'd include it among the must-sees when visiting Matera. Carved into the white limestone rock typical of the area, the aesthetic result is remarkable.

06/12/2025: In the center of Pisticci, you'll find "L'incontro," a trattoria-pizzeria in a charming location with stone vaults. The staff is kind and friendly, as well as attentive in offering suggestions on delicacies to try. From appetizers (fried peperoni cruschi are a must) to first courses, second courses, and not to mention the pizzas. The cuisine is made with the freshest ingredients and exudes the flavors of the region. The desserts are a must.
