Good food at rock-bottom prices. The menu, however, is limited. Excellent service, fast and professional. I didn't think there was still a place where you could enjoy authentic Taranto cuisine. Six of us came in at 12:15 and enjoyed our lunch without being rushed, even though a line of about fifty people had formed outside the restaurant. And the best part was that, in addition to the tourists, there were many locals. An experience worth repeating.

A typical Taranto trattoria, just like the ones of old. All dishes are traditional and local. Reservations are not accepted, and the entry process is quite different from usual. Basically, before the restaurant opens, there's a wait outside to get a table and eat right away. Inside, there are about 30-40 tables, and if you're lucky enough to get a table right away, you'll be given a numbered ticket and called when they start to become available. Fortunately, the service is very fast, and complete meals, from appetizers to coffee, are served in under an hour, allowing everyone to dine despite the wait. It's definitely worth it, though. The restaurant is housed in an old 1930s stable, windowless but very clean and airy. The dishes are simple and affordable, and the portions are generous.
Waiting times are shorter for tables of two; there were six of us and we waited about an hour. Unfortunately, there are no bars in the area where you can wait your turn with an aperitivo. You just need a little patience, but the fish is fresh and well-prepared, and you'll definitely leave satisfied.
We had mussels and octopus marinara as an appetizer, spaghetti with mussels, and fried calamari as a main course. Sorbet, coffee, water, and wine were all included, spending less than €20 each. I think there aren't many places around with such low prices and such high-quality food. We'll gladly return!

It's always a pleasure to return and introduce others to this little Taranto restaurant, full of flavor and a nice price tag. But what a long line to get in.

Anyone visiting Taranto looking for good seafood should definitely try Trattoria L'Orologio! Fresh fish, impeccable and surprisingly fast service, and extremely reasonable prices that will leave you even more amazed when you pay the bill.
These are the places Italy needs! Excellent and highly recommended.

When we arrived, we had an hour-long wait. We wanted to give up, but it was worth it. The atmosphere was clean and refined, the food simple, and the service fast and attentive. It reminds us of lunches and dinners at grandma's house. We enjoyed: octopus marinara, mussels marinara, rice with mussels, spaghetti with garlic, oil, mussels, and chili pepper, tubettini with mussels, delicious mixed fried fish, and to finish, a coffee cream and grappa. I highly recommend it; we'll definitely be back.

Price/performance 10/10, could be significantly more expensive and it would still be justified. It feels very familiar.
