The food here is truly excellent! The menu is limited, but what's on it is prepared to perfection. Everyone knows about it, so reservations are definitely necessary, but it's definitely worth it.

We stumbled upon this trattoria while looking for a restaurant within walking distance—a stroke of luck! We felt very comfortable there, and the food was excellent. It was great to be able to sample regional dishes. Thank you for a very pleasant evening!

We discovered this cozy trattoria by chance and felt so at home that we returned several times. The regional dishes (gnocchetti, taroz) and meat dishes (venison and beef tagliata) we tried were all delicious. Many thanks also to the entire team for their friendly and welcoming service.

Highly recommended for anyone on Lake Mezzola. And also for anyone vacationing in the northern part of Lake Como. The food is fantastic; you won't find a better experience of local cuisine anywhere.

My partner and I stumbled upon this place by chance, looking for a typical restaurant. I lived in Valtellina for two years, and I can tell you, I ate the best Taroz and sciatt of my life at this restaurant! The Valchiavenna gnocchi were indescribable, and the venison steak was cooked to perfection! To round off this wonderful dinner, the staff was very friendly; they made us feel right at home. It's truly rare to find a place like this. The prices were fair, everything was perfect, even the desserts! We'll definitely be back; we left our hearts here. P.S. Sorry for the late review :)

Sono stata per cena, consigliato dalla proprietaria dell’agriturismo dove alloggiavo Alice in Wonderland. Abbiamo mangiato antipasti e primi locali. Qualità ottima,piatti curati e personale super gentile. Nonostante le ricette tipiche non siano leggere,i piatti erano gustosi ma per nulla pesanti o unti. Super consigliato!!

03/10/2025: Oh my word! What an amazing Gem of a restaurant to find in Northern Italy. We all know how good the Italians are at doing food, but when they combine that with a heartfelt welcome, fabulous tasting food and a genuine passion for sharing their talent for making your meal the best it can be, you know you are in for a treat. A restaurant that has been serving great food for 42 years and continues to be excited at the prospect of entertaining new guests realy has to be on your bucket list. Introduced to an amazing red wine that went with every course and polished off with a grappa from the same grape, combined to produce a fabulous evening. Thank you to the whole team at Ill Poggio Restorante..
01/10/2025: The restaurant is very close to the Retici Balzi Wine Hotel. I had an appetizer of typical Valtellina cured meats and sciatt. For my first course, I had pizzoccheri, and I must say I was very satisfied. The view and location are beautiful, and the service is very friendly—a truly beautiful mountain restaurant!

27/07/2025: A warm welcome in a mountain cabin. Dishes are presented with meticulous attention to detail, and above all, with sophisticated, sometimes very unusual, combinations. High-quality ingredients, from the excellent homemade cured meats to the first courses with the aroma of mushrooms and mountain herbs, excellent wine, excellent meat, and finally, a Taneda...Marino and Silvano are very kind...
