We went for dinner with friends on November 1st. The food was excellent, all prepared according to ancient Bari traditions. We didn't have time to take a photo of the other appetizers because we were too hungry. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back.

Fair prices, very charming location (you eat outside among the alleys of Bari Vecchia, which is beautiful), the food is not refined but it is very filling, the spaghetti all'assassina is excellent.

Lovely situation outside an old church. We stumbled across the restaurant looking for evening meal options and waited the 20 mins whilst they were setting up tables before opening (at 6:45pm)
I had spaghetti carbonara (20 Euros) which was one of the more expensive pasta dishes. It was nice but had more eggs in it than I am used to and so with a big portion I was reminded a little of scrambled eggs by the end. The Lasagne was a slice cut from a bigger tray of lasagne and only cost 10 Euros. Complementary fresh bread with a lovely crust.
Drinks were relatively good value especially if you had Peroni in a bottle (33cl) which was much better value than the draft Peroni (20cl or 40cl).
Very busy with tables close together. Despite the business, we were not hurried to leave after having eaten. Friendly and efficient staff.
Only one downside - lots of small flying insects which were too small to bite us but not pleasant if they fell in your glasses or landed on your table.

Location nel cuore di Bari vecchia, a due passi dalla Cattedrale, cibo squisito, proprietari accoglienti e disponibili, camerieri attenti e instancabili, porzioni abbondanti, prezzi assolutamente modici. Consiglio le braciole (fatte dalla “nonna”) e le cime di rapa dal sapore unico. Quando capito in questa città ormai è scontato andare da loro perché sono sicura che mangerò bene, sentendomi a casa e scambiando con tutti loro quattro chiacchiere. Oramai non apro neanche il menu’ e mi lascio consigliare. Grazie!
