I'm sorry when we arrived at the restaurant we were told that the grill was turned off and therefore it was not possible to take meat, I understand the restaurateur's policy of not accessing the grill and then not using it because people don't arrive but in my opinion if it continues like this he will never have customers to do it

Everything was really excellent, the dishes were plentiful and well prepared, the service was also impeccable. Noteworthy wine, rum and whiskey selection. We will definitely be back, well done!

If I had to rate it, I would rate it 7 for the quality of the food; - meat a little too fatty for some dishes, or even dry and for some others cooked not rare as requested. Otherwise I would have judged it to be of good quality. The cured meats are almost ok, but with only speck (and a little) instead of ham. Too much bacon and bacon instead, so there is a lack of balance in the portions. The potatoes as a side dish: excellent. The liver pate croutons are also good. Sweets in sight (more precisely uncovered on a table), absolutely unsuitable for their correct conservation. For service 8; everything normal. For the room only 6: since it would be very welcoming but it is instead very noisy due to a small dog closed inside a fence inside the room. For the price of dinner 6: expensive in proportion to the number of dishes ordered.

Ci sono capitata per caso, adoro i locali genuini e qui l’ho trovato. Servizio veloce e molto cortese. Porzioni abbondanti e cibo ottimo, non solo la carne alla brace, che ci si aspetta da una braceria, ma anche i contorni . Abbiamo bevuto ottimo vino sfuso locale. Prezzi più che onesti. Il locale ha un Comodo parcheggio antistante. La carta dei menu è locale, con molta offerta di tartufi e funghi, ci sono diversi piatti interessanti che mi piacerebbe provare in una prossima occasione.

Arrived by chance, welcomed with great courtesy even though it was late. Fast service and plentiful food. The grilled meat is really excellent. The menu has local dishes and many recipes with mushrooms and truffles. I expected to pay more but perhaps the prices are in the local average. Ample parking in front of the venue, free. If I'm in the area again, I'll be happy to go back because there are other dishes I would like to try.

15/05/2025: Very good traditional food, a wide selection of local and international wines, and very friendly staff. The atmosphere, right next to the church, is very cool and definitely worth a visit. The only downside is the restrooms, which (due to the restaurant's age) are just a hole in the floor and a very small sink. Dinner here is almost a must when visiting Ferrara :)
14/05/2025: A very odd and very unique place, serving food and wines that absolutely feel local. These are definitely not fancy dishes that are made to look good, but rather to give you a taste of what locals have enjoyed for many centuries. Inside it is quite hectic with dust covered shelves and bottles, many instruments hanging down from the ceiling. Not the cleanest place for sure, but it just kind of adds more to it's soulful, olden atmosphere. Be sure to ask for the local wine(s), if you are lucky you get to try the owner's orange one, real crafty - I wish I could remember it's name :(

08/05/2025: We wanted to start with an aperitif with three spritzes at the Venetian Select, which I had never tried but which was in fact a pleasant discovery. The platter with fresh cured meats such as pink salami, very fragrant truffle mortadella, 24-month DOP parmesan and raw ham, truffle caciottina (which I then also bought at a fair price for my parents), two wine and pumpkin piadinas. High level aperitif in terms of flavours, quality and appearance of everything, both the cured meats and the spritz. We continued, I with truffle cappelletti, and he really put a nice amount of truffle flakes on top... a pleasure for the senses. The flavor of the meat filling, the right cooking, and the scent of the truffle. Space; my girlfriend with cappellacci (with pumpkin filling) with ragù with a very strong but correct taste. My sister-in-law had cappellacci butter and sage, which melted in the mouth because they were so good. We all tasted all the dishes and had the same excellent impression. But we liked the truffle cappelletti so much that we had another portion. The quantities were honest, indeed abundant. We took a sweet: chocolate tenderine, simple and perfect to end such a perfect meal, then a light, fresh and tasty Bavarian cream, not too sweet. We drank water, maybe next time we will also try a wine. Ah the coffee... I'm a coffee addict and it was really very good. I recommend taking it without sugar. The bill of around 120 euros was honest in terms of quantity and quality of everything we tried, as well as Federico's kindness. We chose this place due to the great friendliness of Federico, the owner, who my sister-in-law had told us about and we had an excellent experience overall. Food, friendliness, competence, a fantastic view…Congratulations!
