Good food, traditional dishes and honest prices. Ate here twice during our one week stay in Modena and would return anytime with great pleasure and hunger!

I knew this place for a long time, before 2019 I went many times then after a long period I returned last night, unfortunately I didn't find the same quality of food, tortellini with very smooth pasta and very dark and not very hot broth, greasy stockings and tiramisu. In candied fruit I don't think I've ever tasted it! In a traditional restaurant I don't expect a tiramisu with candied fruit! The other diners also described the food as sufficient. .

Due to the good reviews and the Michelin recommendation, we had high expectations, which were unfortunately completely disappointed. My husband wanted to drink a Negroni, but unfortunately they couldn't prepare it, even though all the bottles for it were on the shelf. My polenta lay carelessly on a mountain of dry ricotta, my son's pasta tasted like noodles with ketchup and the cutlet was also far too dry. Unfortunately no recommendation. We were very disappointed. Too bad.

I would say we were welcomed... with a hug Very kind staff and attentive to customer expectations Francesco was able to grasp the nuances we wanted to give to our special evening... an excellent host ❤️

Excellent restaurant in a strategic position in the centre, we were very satisfied with the Modenese people. Recommended dishes: tortellini, petroniana and tripe. Very recommended.

Abbiamo fatto una sosta di una notte a Modena e abbiamo scelto questo Ristorante per la cena. Abbiamo fatto la scelta giusta. All' esterno i tavolini erano tutti occupati ma ci hanno fatto gentilmente accomodare all'interno dove il posto era molto intimo e tranquillo. Clima adatto per degustare una cena. Personale molto gentile e accogliente. Ho apprezzato molto il fatto che non ci abbiano fatto pagare il servizio delle nostre due bambine ma solo di noi due adulti,nonostante ci abbiano portato vari piatti per la condivisione delle pietanze. Cibo ottimo di qualità. Degustato un ottimo lambrusco.

Ristorante di cucina tipica modenese. Menù solo carne. Preparazione tortellini a vista. Ottimi. Ottimi anche piatti di carne. 4 primi, 4 secondi di carne , 4 caffè, 2 calici di vino e acqua 145 euro. Buono il servizio, Buon rapporto qualità prezzo considerando gli aumenti che ci sono stati dappertutto.

30/12/2024: It seemed like a "simple stop" for lunch on the road from Naples to Varese, but instead I found warming smiles seasoned with moments that remain imprinted in the heart, forever. Thank you Mr. Claudio for the hospitality in his magical Osteria with an unforgettable flavor because simplicity is not a simple thing. See you very soon
29/12/2024: There are few places like this left, which is why it is special: fixed menu with a few dishes that change with the season, but each one masterfully explained by the host, who with charm and friendliness accompanies all the diners during their meal. The restaurant seems like "grandmother's house", because it is full of memories and knick-knacks collected over the years, which tell a story and make it unique. Definitely recommended for a different experience than usual

Trattoria Il Fantino

04/01/2025: We divided tortellini in broth (excellent hot broth suitable for a cold foggy day) and a traditional dish. All good, quick service and fair bill. There is no bread at the table but only breadsticks, but on the other hand our second course arrived with two tigelle and four fried gnocchi. It seemed to me that the restaurant is mainly frequented by tourists.
03/01/2025: Service absolutely not up to the quality of the food, which it really deserved. We ordered starter, first course and second course: starter and first course arrived together, making us eat in a hurry without enjoying the meal. The second never arrived: after half an hour when we asked for it, they told us it was finished. The owner didn't even understand the discomfort, treating us with an acid tone
