Trattoria La Pigna is a hidden gem. Over 5 days in Siracusa we have tried a number of restaurants, including the Michelin. We came to La Pigna twice. My sister first recommended it when visiting a year ago. It lived up to the expectation. It’s a family business and a husband/wife duo deliver. Great food, very nice service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for two great dinners!

We went there for lunch, the owner was friendly and welcoming, his wife is the chef and knows her stuff, everything was very good and prepared with care, I highly recommend it

An outstanding experience and good value for quality. Easily the best meal we had in Sicily. Very fresh seafood, excellently prepared, and run by a lovely family who take a lot of pride in what they do. I would not have hesitated to return if we were in the area longer. Prices were very reasonable and you could eat there more cheaply than we did, but since it was our last night we splashed out.

A classic traditional restaurant. Warm welcome and engaging waitress. Delicious raw fish and superb spaghetti with sea urchins! Chef Patrizia's rounds to say hello were appreciated. Highly recommended and definitely worth returning 😄

In the heart of Ortigia, one of the few restaurants that doesn't rip off tourists is definitely La Pigna. It's a small restaurant, family-run with Fabio in charge of the dining room and his wife in the kitchen. Fresh catch and seafood dishes, sometimes depending on the season, include tasty, unconventional, or recurring options, such as orecchiette with turnip tops and clams. The menu isn't overly extensive, but focuses on dishes made with local ingredients and rigorously made to order. From appetizer to dessert, everything is homemade. I had lunch there last weekend and had a truly wonderful experience. The Pigna tasting was a starter to share for two. It was a mixed appetizer with various hot and cold dishes. Traditional flavors that will win you over, like caponata, cod arancini, or fried anchovies. I then tried the spaghetti with breadcrumbs, a little sauce, and anchovies, as well as my risotto, which was convincing and truly well-made. Flavorful seasoning and masterful cooking, with the usual 35 minutes required for the dish between toasting and subsequent preparations (you don't notice the wait, as it's divided by the appetizer). Prices aren't excessive, but rather fair and reflect the quality of the menu. For €35-40 per person, a nice fish lunch is a breeze. I recommend booking in advance.

🍽️ Here you can find tasty and authentic seafood dishes, such as mixed fish appetizers, seafood risottos, paccheri with scorpion fish, and very fresh fried red mullet prepared with high-quality ingredients.

Francesco is very friendly when it comes to customer service. The food is of excellent quality, and the menu is concise, as is typical of a high-level restaurant. If I lived in Syracuse, I would go every week.
