Very good restaurant with a patio on a lovely courtyard/square. The food was delicious. When we went, it was extremely slow; but the staff was nice and we were not in a hurry.

Lights and shadows: after many years, I returned to this restaurant, located in a picturesque courtyard in the heart of Bologna. It has retained a very beautiful atmosphere, the service is excellent, and so is the courtesy of the staff. Let's start with the highlights: when I go to a typical restaurant in Bologna, I want to eat the quintessential dish, tagliatella alla Bolognese. I'd give this dish a nine, but why a ten? The ragù was excellent, this deserved a ten, while the pasta, although cooked perfectly, was perhaps a little too thick and a bit wider than the original recipe registered with the Chamber of Commerce calls for. Now let's move on to the shadows: first, the cellar, although well-stocked with top-quality types and brands, was missing one of the most iconic wines, perfect for pairing with Bolognese food: His Majesty, Lambrusco! Another disappointment I encountered was the polenta with cheese. This one gets a 6 or so because, although the polenta sticks were impeccably prepared, they lacked the basic flour. I don't know if pre-cooked flour was used, but it certainly wasn't up to par with the other dishes I saw pass by both at my table and at nearby tables.

What a wonderful night-the best meal and experience in all of Bologna! An excellent variety of Bolognese specialties on the menu. Our favorites were the Tagliatelle Bolognese, Pasta with Asparagus, an amazing Rabbit dish, chocolate torta and Tiramisu - so delicious! Gorgeous historical surroundings accented with crystal glasses and light fixtures create a warm and casually elegant ambiance. The service was great and the staff were such lovely people! We felt as though we made new friends. A special treat!
