A fixed menu (don't worry, you can also choose to eat fewer things) where you can choose different traditional Tranese dishes.
We are welcomed by a very kind girl who we later discover is the daughter of the cook in the kitchen. The setting is delightful, a warm atmosphere and many objects to discover during dinner.
The appetizers brought were endless, including meat and vegetable dishes of all kinds.
I don't want to go on, but I'll just tell you that mum cooks the zeppole one by one in a pot and not in a fryer.
Being a housewife is a profession to be protected and reevaluated!

We were here on our last evening of our holiday. Very spontanous. My girlfriend is vegetarian, I simply don't eat meat/fish very often. So we asked what the menu of the day is and if it would be possible to have 2 vegetarian menus. The antipasti were a broad variety of about 10 small portions. From fave e cicoria, different beans, cheese and bruschetta to grilled peppers and fried breadballs. All were very good. As main dish we got two different orecchiette dishes to share. One with tomatosauce and cacioricotta and one with tomatoes , oil, garlic and capers. The orecchiette were homemade and incredibly good. As a dessert we got fruits and Tiramisu also a caffe and some homemade liquor (for me amaretto) . For 35€/Person including coperto, bread and all drinks (red wine , water , caffe , digestiv) its absolutely reasonable. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We have absolutely nothing to critisize , it even was a bit too much food. ( 😄) . If we ever come back to trani we will come back to Trattoria La Casalinga!

Ideal place to enjoy typical local cuisine! True family run restaurant. Absolutely try the meatballs with sauce. Clean environment. Helpful staff. See you soon. To be recommended!

Opinion on the 35 euro fixed price menu: many starters mainly made of vegetables, good homemade dishes. 1 first course orecchiette, excellent, grilled with lots of sausages, dole bitter coffee. I expected something more. Effective and courteous service

Coming from Naples (with 7 other friends) I had an absolutely great time.
Excellent food, excellent wine, both abundant 😂.
I offer you my (albeit very simple and modest) compliments. For the cleanliness, the bright environment (but warm and welcoming with that fantastic living stone) and for the calm, the education, the smiles and the chat you dedicated to us.
I hope to return to visit you as soon as possible.
In the meantime, I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO IS IN TRANI ONSTIA TO GO THERE.

Siamo stati davvero tanto bene in questa eccellente trattoria nel centro storico di Trani. Un tavolo di 12 amici grandicelli e tutti ci siamo sentiti a nostro agio, accolti da un ambiente un servizio e una cucina veramente ospitali. Ringraziamo ancora la famiglia che ci ha ospitati.
A vantaggio degli utenti che leggeranno devo precisare che si tratta di non ordinare da un menù e neanche da una carta dei vini. Ci si siede e si inizia a degustare le squisitezze che escono dalla cucina. Tutto ottimo, appena preparato, proprio come altri tempi. E tanta tanta gentilezza, senza fronzoli, con il vino della casa, come a casa. Complimenti per la scelta di questa formula, tutta sostanza, che parrebbe un pò in controtendenza rispetto alla cucina gourmet che si sta affermando, e che invece garantisce freschezza, gusto e qualità. Mi sembra corretto dire che questa formula si traduce anche in un rapporto qualitá/prezzo insuperabile per chi sceglie di abbracciarla. Insomma si va a casa col sorriso, ringraziando per la ospitalità e con il desiderio di tornare.

E alla fine (noi) ci siamo ritornati!
Spesso si và alla ricerca dei migliori ristoranti ma poi si rimane molto delusi sotto vari aspetti.
Invece, da sempre, se sì vuol degustare (non solo mangiare), il posto migliore è la fatidica vecchia trattoria.
Ma attenzione: anche quì è necessario attuare una attenta selezione.
Ebbene, questo posticino, è l'ideale sotto tutti i punti di vista.
La conduzione famigliare merita davvero.
Che altro dire di quanto già precedentemente detto?
Nulla se non andarci.
Davvero, non ve ne pentirete.
Grazie nuovamente per tutto quanto trovato.
Speriamo solo di ritornarci più spesso non appena possibile.
