Absolutely authentic cuisine; Domenico and his team run what we consider to be the best restaurant in Noto.
They make a few minor compromises in the ambiance, but it's still authentic, just as you'd imagine Sicily to be. No pretentiousness, no hipster cuisine, just down-to-earth, incredibly flavorful food. The service staff is very friendly and very helpful. I would make a reservation here, as it's always booked up.

A VIP experience. A recommended restaurant for lovers of good food who want to savor traditional dishes prepared with care and skill. In the historic center of Noto, in a narrow alley near Porta Ferdinandea, we discovered La Carretteria and were so captivated that we returned a second time. The caponata was excellent, the Pasta alla Norma was superb (with rigatoni or mutton ravioli), and the Sicilian-style swordfish was delicious. Finally, the Sicilian-style cannoli was a testament to the quality and skill with which the dishes are prepared...excellent. Special praise goes to Ada and her entire staff.

A typical Sicilian trattoria nestled in a charming alleyway in Noto's beautiful historic center. Excellent cuisine, generous portions, and fast service. The waiters are courteous and friendly, as is Mrs. Ada, who is dynamic and delightful.

Extremely expensive. Too much. You can eat well in many other places without paying so much. The food is excellent, but it does not worth to pay so much. Example: gnocchi with cheese 18 eur. Caponata 14 eur, etc... Too much. Fish is nothing special. So I am sorry but we are not convinced at all. Sicilian cuisine is very popular at affordable prices. Don't pay so much for what you can take elsewhere.
