Small but very welcoming place, the owner really kind. I had lunch with my family in March, choosing a starter and a first course, traditional but truly delicious dishes. The final bill was more than honest. What can I say, we will be back.

We missed out on our lunch spot in Santa Caterina dello Ionio at it was pretty late when we left but we drove like a madman trying to get to Badolato before lunch service stopped and from what we gathered on Google Le Botte was our only hope. We arrived at the place at 14:10 and the kitchen was already shutting down but the proprietor after checking with his wife who runs the kitchen and short argument seated us. He told us we could have the special which was fresh pasta and porcini but had to be done in 30 minutes or less which suited us so along with a mezza of house wine we were pretty happy piggies munching on delicious bread slurping fresh pasta washed down by as many mezza as allowed. Many thanks for accepting some last minute hungry Canadian travelers and sorry for disturbing the peace between front of house and back but your meal was well appreciated and your amazing hospitality.

Se arrivate in Calabria, zona ionica, non potete mancare la visita a Badolato borgo e andare a pranzo o cena in questa graziosissima trattoria. Volevamo fare solo un aperitivo, poi siamo stati attratti da un antipasto con formaggi, salumi, funghi e melanzane sott’olio per poi proseguire con delle ottime tagliatelle ai porcini e melanzane e peperoni ripieni, tutti rigorosamente preparati secondo tradizione dalla mamma del simpatico proprietario. Non potete finire il pasto senza bere il limoncello prodotto da loro, uno dei migliori che abbia bevuto, meglio di quello che faccio io. Prezzo più che equo. Ci torneremo

Calabrian food. Lovely place just off the plaza at Badolato Borga. Difficult with the language, also because of very poor internet access. Doesn't close for the afternoon, unlike the others which close at 12:30.

What can I say, quality cuisine like that made by our grandmothers for generations, the owner very attentive to customer needs.
I ate there twice and will return next time.
Then Badolato is wonderful.
