Excellent dinner and a super welcome! All the dishes we tried were refined and tasty in their simplicity. The apple tart was simply amazing. It will be a pleasure to return to try other dishes.

A wonderful experience! The dishes were excellent, with a special mention for the calamari and the tuna (in its pistachio and tea coating). The service was warm and welcoming. The restaurant was recommended to us by the Hotel San Marco and, without a doubt, it's an excellent choice, just a few minutes from the walls of Lucca.

This is my girlfriend's absolute favorite restaurant in Lucca, and she's spent on average 1-2 months here every year since she was 16. It's down to earth, unpretentious, but the food and service are spectacular. We ate an unrushed meal of tartare with some kind of crumbled fried capers and olive mixture on top, cured meat with arugula and cheese, and a ravioli of mushroom topped with yellow squash sauce and pomegranate seeds. Oh, and the complimentary roasted veggies were amazingly delicious, a subtle taste of fennel permeating then. It was all gorgeous and delicious. I ordered a bottle of Nippozzani for 25 euros, and it was delicious and paired very well. For dessert we had semifreddo which was maybe a tad too cold but still delicious, and one other thing that I forget the name of but it was some kind of mousse with a crumbly cake on the bottom topped with some kind of cream and it was perfect. We spent a good 3 hours there and felt completely unrushed. We ordered as much as one could possibly want and it came in at just under 100 euros.

This place was recommended and it is outside the walls around Lucca and it was a pleasant visit. Smile and friendly welcome, seriously good food and then you are not just another number in line, but a guest who is welcome to have a good experience. If I come to Lucca again I will come here too ☺️

The dining experience exceeded all my expectations and truly surpassed the standards of many Michelin-starred restaurants I have visited. The food at the restaurant was absolutely amazing, showcasing exceptional flavors and high-quality ingredients in every dish. Each bite was a delightful experience, perfectly balanced and expertly prepared. I actually broke my rule of visiting only new restaurants each evening by dining here two nights in a row, but the experience was so outstanding that I don’t regret it at all. In fact, I plan to have all my dinners during my trip here from now on because the quality and taste are simply unbeatable.

I believe the location, the dining room where a wonderful lunch or dinner is served, and the dishes themselves speak volumes even more than the reviews themselves. Book and enjoy something unique. Kudos not only to the chef, who, by listening to his guests' preferences, can take you on a unique culinary journey, but especially to the staff, both in the dining room and, above all, in the kitchen. We'll be back... always!

The moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the peaceful charm of the Tuscan countryside – a setting that immediately invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment. The location strikes a perfect balance between rustic and elegant, with thoughtful details that reflect a deep appreciation for both tradition and contemporary comfort. The service was excellent throughout the entire meal. The staff were warm and attentive, striking just the right tone – always available, but never overbearing. It’s clear that hospitality here is taken seriously, and that every guest is made to feel welcome and relaxed. We were offered a tasting menu personally curated by the chef, and it was an exceptional journey through refined and creative cuisine. The menu included a variety of intriguing elements: delicate raw fish, a luxurious truffle and potato combination, perfectly cooked linguine enriched with miso, followed by bold proteins like bison, suckling pig, and quail. Each dish showcased a clear culinary vision – combining high-quality ingredients with modern technique and thoughtful presentation. Most of the courses stood out for their originality and flavor. The raw fish dish was fresh and balanced, the truffle and potato pairing offered an indulgent yet refined start, – a fusion of umami and elegance. The meats were handled with care, each prepared to highlight their unique character without overpowering the palate. Not every dish was a “wow” moment, but the overall experience remained highly impressive. The few elements that were slightly less impactful didn’t detract from the coherence or enjoyment of the meal – if anything, they underscored the chef’s willingness to take creative risks, which we genuinely appreciated. One of the strengths of La Martinatica is how it combines an ambitious, chef-driven menu with the relaxed charm of its surroundings.
