They say that you return to where you had a good time, Gosto e Mea is totally one of those places, so much so that we returned three times in two days of stay in Lucca. The restaurant and those who work there are pure Beauty, the food is divine in quality, unusual combinations and variety of choice. Ah, don't miss tasting the touching and unsurpassed cream ice cream, it's true that you've never tasted something like this before... Simply the best steak I've ever eaten!! Chose this restaurant as it is close to the hotel we are staying in. We arrived at around 7.30pm, without a reservation, and were the first diners which initially concerned me but within another 20 minutes the place was pretty much full. The menu is fairly short with the focus being on the local Regina beef or seafood. We opted for the meat route. We both chose the Bresoala with rocket and parmesan to start, and simply those 3 items are what are delivered on your plate, an abundance of them. Oil and aged balsamic vinegar are provided so you add dressing to suit yourself. For the mains my wife chose a pork dish with an apple glaze/sauce and I chose a sirloin steak with a three pepper crust. My wife's was served with Duchesse Potatoes and mine with oven Roasted Potatoes, I also ordered a side of oven Roasted vegetables. The sirloin was cooked to perfection on the rare to medium but it was the crust that gave it it's incredible flavour. The meat was juicy and tender and melted in the mouth and the potatoes were beautifully seasoned and a mixture of crunchy outside and soft on the inside. Without exaggeration the best peice of steak I've ever had. The waiter recommended a red wine, a chianti classico, which was moderately priced at €22 euro a bottle and was a full bodied red that accompanied the beef perfectly. For dessert my wife had a pistachio semifreddo and I had a lovely lime mousse Tart which refreshed the palette after the meaty meal nicely. Total bill was €108.50, which given the quality of the food, service, and overall ambience equalled great value for money. In fact we were so impressed, on leaving we made a reservation for the Friday night. This is our 3rd trip to Italy in the last 3 years and this is the first time we have returned to a restaurant during a trip.

Restaurant just outside the walls, very nice location and smiling and professional welcome. The kitchen offers special dishes, well presented and cooked. There is a wide choice of wines including those of the house.

Incredible place, fabulous food, I stayed more than one evening during my holiday and I always found quality, friendliness and professionalism a mouth-watering restaurant. Ravioli and Tordelli highly recommended, meat in general very tender and delicious! Seeing is believing!
