VERY good restaurant with excellent options, even for those who don't have to eat gluten-free. Excellent quality and professional service. Parking is a bit tricky, but worth it.

A delicious dinner featuring regional cuisine. Good selection: dishes, at least for what we ordered, weren't abundant. The horse rib was good, well-rounded. Friendly and attentive staff. Prices were above average. I would definitely return to try other dishes. Thank you and goodbye.

A wonderful discovery with grandmother's flavors served off the table with a more refined look than a trattoria. The atmosphere is a bit of a mix between a trattoria and a restaurant, but the flavors and ingredients are of the highest quality. Very fair prices.

Good traditional Salento food and friendly service. The decor is a bit retro. Prices are average for the season, so a bit expensive, but they're worth the quality. This is my second time here, thanks to work and the proximity to the hotel. Recommended!

A typical Salento trattoria. The vegetable dishes are unique, and there are many options. The menu is written in dialect and is charming. The portions are perhaps a little small compared to the prices. We may have overdone it by ordering several dishes because we wanted to try everything, and the price was a bit high. But it's true that we could have ordered less. Chicory, Catalogna chicory, stewed turnips, and many other interesting vegetables to try. This place's specialty is the fried and stuffed zucchini flowers, absolutely worth trying. The service could perhaps be improved a little.

I stopped for Sunday lunch and everything was delicious: fresh and tasty dishes, good house wine, and the orange and almond cake that finished it all was excellent. The staff were truly kind and helpful, never intrusive.
08/02/2026: A Sunday Lunch Between Seafood Flavors and Family Warmth There's nothing better than gathering the family around a table filled with the aroma of salt and tradition. Our lunch at Ristorante Universo was a true journey of flavor, an experience that celebrated the quality of the ingredients with a touch of creativity. The variety of dishes made sharing a constant pleasure: We started with a lively mix: from crispy mixed fried fish to classic mixed fried fish (always a surefire hit for adults and children), through to a refreshing octopus and shrimp salad and exquisite au gratin mussels, perfectly golden. The First Courses (The Heart of the Lunch): The real star was the seafood risotto. Perfectly creamed, with a vibrant touch of saffron and more. Equally worthy were the spaghetti all'Adriatica and paccheri agli abissi, rich dishes where the pasta captured every nuance of the sea. Even the French fries, served rustically, lived up to the standards of a carefully crafted lunch. We ended on a high note with a jar of tiramisu, creamy and authentic in flavor, the perfect way to cap off a special Sunday. Ristorante Universo confirms itself as an excellent choice for those seeking the legacy of tradition (the good kind, passed down from generation to generation) combined with attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. A place where "eating well" means feeling at home, but with the privilege of having the best of the catch on your plate. Highly recommended for those who want to turn an ordinary Sunday into a wonderful memory.

Le Pizzecate

22/10/2025: Excellent choice in San Cesario de Lecce. We ordered some fries and the burrata, mortadella, and pistachio pizza, and it was a delicacy. Very attentive and friendly. We ate there; there are two small tables outside. Many people came to place their orders. We would eat here again.
27/09/2025: A wonderful little place in a small Italian town! We had dinner here several times and tried different pizzas each time – one with traditional dough and one gluten-free. Both were amazing, and the gluten-free pizza was by far the best I’ve ever had in Italy! The staff were incredibly kind, we always got a table on the patio, and the owner was genuinely delighted to welcome visitors from Poland. Each time we were treated to limoncello and grappa, which made us feel truly special. Nowhere else in Italy have we experienced such warm hospitality. Highly recommended – and if we return to Puglia, we’ll definitely come back!
