This was an odd experience. Most importantly, the food is delicious, wonderful in fact. Exactly what I wanted - a taste of Lecce. We started with the fiori di zucca fritti and a sample of olive oil toasts. I had the Sagne Nnannulate with the tomato sauce with horse meat, lovely balance of richness and savory tomato flavor. My wife enjoyed the Ciceri e tria pasta, also wonderful. We paired it with a nice rose wine. Where I felt bothered was how we were treated. This is my 10th trip to Italy, so I know the customs and embrace them fully. I am not fluent but speak Italian decently for a tourist. We were dressed as well as anyone who showed up. We arrived shortly after the restaurant opened at 8pm. There was a large tour group eating inside. However we were told we could only eat outside. OK, I understand it's Saturday night maybe there were many reservations so we took seats outside. But it was evident that we were not welcome for whatever reason. We could tell from the conversations as people rang the bell to enter, half of the people who arrived afterwards didn't have reservations. I speak well enough to understand the language of the restaurant. YET NO ONE ELSE WAS MADE TO SIT OUTSIDE. Each time the door opened, we hear people inside enjoying themselves and we were alone outside. While food service was OK, in my many visits to Italy this was the first time I was made to feel like a stranger. Made more apparent every time the front door closed. To reiterate, the food is wonderful. The inside atmosphere and decor, from what we could see through the windows like beggars, is charming. We just didn't feel welcome. We skipped dessert downed a coffee, paid and left. We felt welcome in Bari for 3 nights but Lecce was not welcoming this night. Dumb luck I guess.

Off the beaten track, a truly typical restaurant serving traditional cuisine. Quiet terrace with very good food.

Very well prepared dishes. There is horse meat for those who like it. The pasta dishes are very good, especially the garlic and chili spaghetti. A great place away from the hustle and bustle and tourist traps.

Very good frise, with an oil that almost tastes of the sea. Gnocchi with zucchini, mussels, and herbs, enveloping like a grandmother's hug.

This was the best meal we had in all of Puglia. It is a hidden gem slightly outside of the tourist area. And it’s staffed by the warmest Italian owner and staff. Try the eggplant parmigiana, spaghetti with mussels, meatballs, and sausage!

We had a wonderful evening. We chose this restaurant for its gluten-free options, and I must say we were delighted with the many options. The food was delicious and of high quality.

This was my second visit to this restaurant, and once again I was thrilled. The cuisine, traditional and authentic, is meticulously prepared and surprisingly delicious, with exquisite attention to detail. The zucchini flowers, in particular, are a true masterpiece of flavor. The atmosphere is truly Salento, which is reflected in both the dishes and the hospitality, making the experience authentic and unforgettable. One aspect worth highlighting is the great attention to gluten-free options: the organization is impeccable and conveys a sense of security, allowing you to enjoy every course with complete peace of mind. The service is equally special: the staff is friendly, attentive, and always available, effortlessly combining professionalism and friendliness. A place that combines traditional cuisine, customer service, and Salento warmth: highly recommended!

Trattoria tipica con cucina del posto. Servizio semplice e attento. Rapporto qualità prezzo giusto. Attrezzati ed attenti sul senza glutine. Tutto buono. Il menu in leccese io l'ho trovato simpatico e devo anche dire che il proprietario è stato gentilissimo a tradurlo parola per parola però magari potrebbe esserci chi non è del posto e preferirebbe il menu in italiano. Ripeto: io lo trovo simpatico, ma consiglierei al proprietario di farne anche uno di riserva per chi non vuole sforzarsi. A me è piaciuto e se sarò di nuovo a Lecce ci tornerò senz'altro
