This place is the real deal.. a wonderful, authentic Italian dining experience that feels like home. Such a charming interior and all of the dishes we had were remarkable, especially the salted caramel cheesecake. Genuinely one of the best meals and desserts we experienced on our trip to Italy. Do not miss out if you are in the area! The location is small and is booked up solid for days at a time. They leave 1-2 tables available for walk in right when the restaurant opens and it becomes increasingly difficult to secure a spot as the night goes on. We were lucky enough to be 1 of those 2 walk-in tables that were let in. The phone basically rings nonstop the first hour they are open as people are frantically trying to secure a spot for dinner - and it's a testament to how exceptional this place is. Would love to return in the future!

It is not a starred restaurant and my rating seems exaggerated. But there were six of us, we all enjoyed excellent appetizers, soups such as tortellini, tortelloni, extremely good tagliatelle, even taken twice unfortunately but we will return even if the reservation is quite long, I was saying we will return to taste the second courses too. However, we tasted desserts, cake fantastic chocolate, trifle. Absolutely recommended.

Excellent as it hasn't happened to me since time immemorial. 35 seats, a solid menu that focuses on real flavors without pretense or "heater" tricks. The cuisine uses top quality raw materials such as the cotechino from the Cadassa farms, perhaps the best among the artisanal ones. Pasta that doesn't make you miss home-made pasta with finally balanced pumpkin tortelli. The starters are interesting and not at all banal, with a particular mention for Bianca's Tolone wrapped in crispy bacon and red radicchio. Try it without hesitation. Good selection of wines and a price per head of rare honesty: €39 on average per head. A miracle of convenience compared to the quality provided.

Flavio and Tommaso have created a magical place, where eating becomes an unforgettable experience and creates a point of comparison that cannot escape the judgment of experiences in other restaurants. Then there is how much passion and competence in describing the dishes, the raw materials and their origins. The bill you pay is the mirror of all the research into excellent suppliers for excellent products, and the great ability to know how to treat and work with them with care. Well done, well done..... how can you not go back to VIA SERRA!!

Magnificent experience, my best in Bologna

This place is a must if you’re visiting Bologna. The traditional menu stays true to Bologna’s reputation as Italy’s epicurean capital. Waiting staff were incredibly hospitable and the setting warm and intimate. I highly recommend the tortellini in brodo - the first spoonful instantaneously transported me back to my childhood. If you’re not lucky enough to secure a booking, arrive 15 min before opening and they may be able to accommodate you at the counter.

Esperienza straordinaria. Posto semplice, cucina semplice all'apparenza, sapori nitidi. Tutto fatto con estrema cura e ricercatezza, servito allo stesso tempo con semplicità e professionalità. Ambiente accogliente, caldo dove il Gusto delle pietanze fa da padrone. I tortellini sono un capolavoro, il brodo eccezionale. Un posto che vale il viaggio :-) Grazie
