They are right now temporarily closed for renovations. They will reopen again in September! Stop in then! This is such a great restaurant!

We went 10 years ago. And we went back yesterday. We're not from Rome, or even Italy. It's a fantastic place. Yesterday I realized that (and this happens sometimes) time hasn't just not destroyed them, it's kept them strong. The food was delicious. The service was incredibly friendly and special. We promised we'd come back in 2 or 3 years at the most. We're going to try! 🤭 The food is just amazing!!! 🥰😍

Easily the best food in Rome. Great wine and liquor on top of one of a kind food. No menu, you just get a prepared set of 4 courses

Great place, very traditional. The people were extremely friendly and the food was delicious. I'm surprised to see such bad reviews; I think they must be from snobbish people who are looking for luxury and want to feel elegant. I was just looking to have a good time with delicious food in a warm and pleasant place.

It's very informal here, and in the best sense of the word. The owner doesn't hesitate to chat, making sure everything is alright as if he were welcoming friends – you can relax for a moment, far from the Roman hustle and bustle and tourist traps. I highly recommend it!

This is a real winner. No menu to choose from, but a pre-set dinner. With antipasti, primi, secundi, dolci, water and wine for €35.00 p/p, and everything was delicious. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful place, so hidden away, and the quality is excellent. Eight-course meal including dessert. Typical Mediterranean cuisine, and you leave more than satisfied.

Quiet atmosphere, unlike touristy places, here you feel at home. The food was so good, everything was delicious and simple. The gentleman serving the tables was kind and friendly. Highly recommended!!!

15/08/2026: I had the carbonara, lamb chops and seasonal vegetables. I can honestly say that the lamb chops were the best lamb chops, I have had in my life. Fresh rosemary, sea salt and grilled to perfection! I had tirimisu for dessert and it was lovely as well.
08/08/2026: Lovely waiters, excellent food, huge portions. We went back twice during our 5-day stay.

18/07/2026: We had a fantastic server in Mimmo! He was warm and accommodating! We’re two young women who can’t really afford to eat here but he gave us affordable recommendations! He beautifully read our desires and went above and beyond to make it happen for us. Warm and personable! We will be coming back next time we’re in Rome, even if only to see him! :))
17/07/2026: At Hosteria Da Cesare, I understood that in Rome, a diet starts on Monday and ends on Monday. The service makes you feel right at home. You leave so happy that the only difficult decision is whether to order dessert or have pasta again.
