A small restaurant discovered almost by accident, but truly a surprise. The atmosphere is welcoming, familiar, and attentive, with the hostess—a lady with a sweet French accent—kind and smiling, making you feel immediately at ease. We started with two plates of homemade gnocchi: one with butter and aromatic herbs, intensely fragrant and delicate, the other with a tender and aromatic veal ragù. Authentic aromas and flavors, a true cuisine. For main courses, we had a melt-in-the-mouth Fassona beef stew, slowly cooked with herbs and wine, accompanied by golden, perfect organic potatoes with their skins, and a truly exquisite tartiflette—my first—with potatoes, onions, pancetta, cream, and Reblochon cheese, creamy and delicious just right. We drank half a liter of Chardonnay, water, and two coffees. About 30 euros each, a pleasure spent on authentic products and heartfelt cuisine. A simple yet thoughtful menu, with options for vegetarians and celiacs, ingredients sourced from local farms, and a clear focus on quality. In short: a cuisine that speaks of passion, authenticity, and local tradition. One of those places where a few things done well are worth more than a thousand frills. Highly recommended.

Traditional dishes revisited with elegance and flavor: everything is delicious, and the family-run restaurant is extremely welcoming, friendly, and kind. I'll definitely be back: don't miss the pasta with butter and herbs, the tartiflette, the pistachio tiramisu, and the pear and almond cake. Selected local and organic products.

We spent an evening here for an aperitivo and it was truly a pleasant experience. Refined, plentiful food and a welcoming atmosphere. A place worth trying for lunch, too; one of the best in the area.

A warm welcome (and in French!) and excellent cuisine. A special mention goes to the pistachio tiramisu: it's to die for! Don't hesitate to make a detour to this peaceful village to eat at this restaurant.

And then there are places like La Fortezza in Chivasso, where every dish becomes an experience, a memory, and, above all, an immediate desire to return. The experience we had the pleasure of tasting was simply extraordinary, a perfect balance between sea and land, executed with rare precision and sensitivity. From the delicate and perfectly balanced rossetti in saor (red sardines), to the zucchini stuffed with shrimp, where the sweetness of the vegetable blends with the freshness of the sea in an elegant and never banal way. The sole in orange-and-sage butter is a dish that deserves special mention: impeccable technique, clear yet harmonious aromas, a construction that demonstrates a sure hand and a clear vision. The grilled sockeye salmon with samphire confirms the quality of the raw ingredients and the ability to enhance them without excess, letting the product speak for itself. The first courses raise the bar even further: the linguine with shrimp, fava beans, and pecorino cheese is a masterful example of the balance between sea and land, while the penne with cuttlefish, Riviera olives, and pistachio pesto surprises with their originality and flavorful coherence. Here, you can clearly sense the kitchen's ability to break the mold without ever losing control. And then the desserts: the Dolce Chivasso and the bunet with acacia flowers finish with elegance and identity, leaving a rare sense of completeness. But what truly makes La Fortezza exceptional isn't just the quality of the dishes. It's the care in preparation, the almost sartorial precision of every detail, and above all, the team: a smiling, genuinely friendly service, never intrusive but always present, capable of accompanying the experience with ease and intelligence. In the kitchen, there's clearly a team that doesn't just cook, but creates. Unique, special, delicious dishes, with a recognizable signature and a clear desire to surprise without ever forcing. And the final feeling is one: this was just a taste. The rest of the menu, between land and sea, promises an even more expansive journey. And the desire to return isn't an option. It's a certainty.
