A good place for lunch or dinner near Alessandria

We were headed to Genoa, and given the heavy traffic from the May 1st long weekend and the ongoing construction, the GPS took us out at Alessandria Sud. On the way, we came across a sign for this restaurant and, hungry, stopped. What a great discovery!!! Excellent food served in a very informal and simple atmosphere, just like the owners who welcomed us. The veal with tuna sauce was delicious, but special mention goes to the first courses: agnolotti all'Alessandrina and tagliolini with Piedmontese beef ragù.... what can I say!!!! We remembered them all weekend!!! I love stumbling upon these places by chance and the unexpected.... they're the best things that can happen :)

A tavern by name and by nature. A few dishes, all good, the food is good, the atmosphere is homey, and the prices are fair.

We had a midweek dinner with a couple. The place was comfortable, warm, and pleasant, with great attention to detail and cleanliness. The menu was traditional and varied, and the service was provided by young, friendly, and professional staff. I recommend trying the donkey stew; it's absolutely worth it! The orange and Campari sorbet was top-notch! The price was more than reasonable for the menu. 👍🏼 Recommended!

We're in the center of town, with a free parking lot just a few meters away. The restaurant is neat, clean, and welcoming, and certainly matches the kindness and courtesy of the owner and his staff. The Piedmontese menu is excellent, although there are some foreign additions. For example, the fried calamari is excellent. The orange and Campari sorbet is superb, a perfect end to the meal. The wine list is good, and the prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality of the ingredients used and the cuisine. Dogs are welcome.

I returned today after months to this lovely Osteria where the food is truly excellent. Impeccable service. The owners are a very kind and professional couple. As soon as I'm back in the area, I'll definitely book again.
