The trattoria, run by the Schellino brothers, is historic. They obtained a license in the early 1900s, allowing them to sell all kinds of food and non-food items locally. Smiling, the owner tells us he could even sell weapons, but that's not their goal. The atmosphere is well-maintained. The furnishings, unique and well-preserved, contain memorabilia that testify to their connection to the agricultural world of the Alta Langa. The glass is never empty, the service is kind, authentic, occasionally gruff and joking, never over the top, and accompanies the meal by describing the courses and matching the wine to the aromas and flavors of the dish. One of the few trattorias left where you can immerse yourself in that Savoy agricultural atmosphere sorely missed in "modern" trattorias. A must-try, at least once in your life...

Driving the road from Montezemolo to Belvedere Langhe already sets you up for beauty: a thrilling journey with views of Monviso. Then you arrive at the trattoria where my Piedmontese spirit finds the confirmation I've been waiting for.
Everything is good, truly authentic, and flavorful. Agnolotti del plin, tajarin, and raw meat. Fast service. The Sunday atmosphere is a bit noisy. A final chat with one of the owners, nurtured by my dialect, was a blast from the past.

I really enjoyed the daring combination of fish and meat. The dishes were beautifully cooked. Good wine. The price was reasonable for what we ate and drank.
My only complaint, but just my opinion, is that I would use well-cooked, low-quality blue fish, as you have shown your skill in doing.

On a cold winter Sunday, Trattoria del Peso proved to be a pleasant escape from the chaos of the city. With friends returning to the city from faraway places, we were looking for authentic Piedmontese cuisine in a family-friendly setting, without too much formality, and this trattoria delivered. The selection of fresh, beautifully presented food was excellent, with the house menu fully meeting our expectations and needs. The raw meat with truffle shavings was delicious, and the plin and tajarin pasta served as first courses were creamy.
What struck us most, however, and what made lunch an experience to remember, was undoubtedly the atmosphere the owners had created: rustic yet elegant, a place where everyone in the room could connect.
We'll definitely be back!
