A restaurant that offers a truly remarkable experience. The combination of cuisine, service, wine list, and ambiance is top-notch, without being overbearing: the quality doesn't need to be shouted about. Perhaps the only (venial) flaw is the limited menu.

I have been coming to this restaurant for the last 20+ years, and it is always a guarantee. One of the few cases I know of, of a restaurant managing to keep the 'snail' (too distinction) of the slow food restaurant guide for decades in a row: meaning that the quality does not go down, and the prices do not go up - not too much, at least. One if the most respected Italian restaurant critics claims it has the best cotoletta alla Milanese and I can only agree. This said, next to the evergreens (cotoletta, risotto and so on) there are always several new modern takes on traditional dishes - some you may have never heard before. Service always attentive. Refined and relaxed atmosphere. Count on me for the next twenty years!

Lovely place and excellent food!! The only downside was the wait! On a Monday lunchtime in a city like Milan, it's unthinkable to have to wait so long! The appetizer (mondeghini and crouton) arrived after 45 minutes, and the two cutlets with mashed potatoes arrived 20 minutes after the appetizer was finished—really excessive, especially for someone who has to get back to work! I'm highlighting this because we reluctantly had to forgo dessert, which would certainly have been adequate, due to the long wait. That said, I recommend it, but make yourself comfortable.

A very welcoming and elegant place. The staff is very courteous, friendly, and at the same time well-trained and professional. The food is both tasty and beautifully presented, even the dessert—I can't even begin to describe it—because I don't have enough words to describe it. I recommend ordering both the first and second courses, otherwise you'll leave still a little hungry.

Milanese tradition brought to the highest level. Risotto alla Milanese and cotoletta (two versions available) were truly delicious, in my opinion. It's become difficult to find quality food at a reasonable price in Milan these days, so this is the place to be. Extensive wine list.

A simple trattoria by tradition and location (opposite Milan's old slaughterhouse, a seedy but historic area) hides, once you step inside, a Michelin-starred restaurant. The food, presentation, and wines are all top-notch, but the atmosphere remains familiar (and it is). And the value for money is absolutely excellent. Highly recommended!

I walked in around 1:30pm and got seated immediately by a friendly host. Server was equally friendly and they guided me through the menu. Had the sfoglia appetizer, a pasta dish, and then the star came out: risotto Milanese. Rich with cream, butter, and saffron, this dish was last meal worthy. I finished with the tiramisu which was also excellent. All in all this meal was a 9.5 out of 10. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, almost like you’re in someone’s living room. Good for groups of 2 or 4 probably. There was a round table for 6 perhaps.

Wow. What can I say. Staff great wine superb. But best of all they sorted me the best Vegan meal in a while. Made a real effort in a large group to cater for a few fussy ones 😉 like me. Many thx. Will be back and thx for a great night.

Trattoria del Nuovo Macello is a restaurant that manages to honor Milanese tradition without being captive to it. The cuisine offers traditional dishes and more contemporary options. The portions are adequate, and the quality of the ingredients is unquestionable. Special mention, in our case, goes to the tongue and tripe: they were so tender they almost melted in our mouths. The wine list is not overwhelming and well-thought out, with truly interesting selections. The decor is a nice mix of vintage and modern, and the atmosphere is welcoming and full of personality. The staff was attentive, kind, and very helpful, always maintaining a friendly and personable approach. They attentively serve you without ever being intrusive. Finally, the quality-price ratio is excellent and absolutely in keeping with the quality of the offerings. A highly recommended stop for those seeking quality. We will definitely be back.

A really, really good place. We ate in the basement, which is like a wine cellar. It was quiet, the service was impeccable, and the waiters were attentive to our needs at all times. They were incredibly helpful and helpful. All the staff were very accommodating. The food was very good, different, with Milanese influences. Highly recommended!
