The menu is unfussy, but the food is truly delicious. It felt like sitting at your aunt's house, a talented chef who delights you with traditional dishes cooked simply and cleanly. Everything was delicious: the fish balls immersed in a sauce that forces you to mop up the sauce, the fresh octopus salad, the pisci ca cipuddata, the spaghetti with clams, rigorously fresh, the balanced and tasty peppered mussels. We couldn't resist the temptation of the beautifully prepared fried calamari, golden and crispy. There's no dessert, but since you've stepped back in time, a delicious cup of lemon ice cream is perfect. What can I say? Compared to the average restaurant, Trattoria del Lago is a couple of steps above. The environment is simple, a little dated and not particularly well looked after. The service is also efficient, dedicated to substance and without too many frills. Having said that, since one goes to the restaurant to eat, let's see how the owners have disengaged. Mixed appetizers with fish with onions, baby pancakes, fish with salad, octopus, fish balls with sauce, stuffed mussels. All good. The choice of first courses is absolutely basic... too basic Spaghetti with clams, mussels or tomato... too little However the spaghetti with clams was good. We also tasted a portion of mixed fried shrimp and calamari... good. Finally a peppered mussel...this is also good. Water, wine and soft drinks. 43 euros per person... in my opinion a little too much for a decent but too limited menu, maximum profit with minimum investment. You pay a little more in much nicer restaurants, with better service and an extremely varied menu.
