The excellent quality of the tortelli and fillet steak is not to be missed. Remember to ask for the eggs cooked in the meat sauce once you've finished your meal. The only drawback is that the portions of the first courses have been affected by the shrink-flation trend (there are only a few of them), which is so popular these days.

Trattoria del Gallo is one of those rare places where you enter as a customer and immediately feel part of the family. A true gem in the heart of Bologna, it authentically combines hospitality and quality.
The food is prepared with great care, with dishes that respect tradition but without sacrificing a touch of attention to detail. Despite the restaurant's often crowded atmosphere, the staff remains attentive and present, creating a pleasant experience that's never chaotic.
Much credit goes to Simone and Salvatore, who run the restaurant with passion and professionalism: the atmosphere is a testament to their excellent work.
Highly recommended for those looking for a true trattoria, where you can feel at home and eat truly well.

Fantastic food and perfect hospitality. I had a business lunch after a trade fair in Bologna and happened upon this restaurant. I was amazed. The meat was exquisite and the staff were very kind and friendly. I wish I knew the name of the Moldovan girl at the counter with whom I had such great chemistry.

Dinner with friends. We ordered a potato ravioli with pancetta and mushrooms, which was delicious. For the others, we ordered two Bolognese cutlets and two tagliata (sliced steaks), served in a baking dish with hot oil. I must say, the tagliata was excellent. After the tagliata, I ordered two eggs cooked in the tagliata oil, as recommended by them. It was all accompanied by baked potatoes (worthy of note) and spinach. We finished with a salami tart with mascarpone. Drinks included water and a liter of house wine, two coffees, and a liquorice. We spent €32 per person, the service was fast, and the quality/price ratio was excellent.

No reviews are needed, just ask anyone in Bologna. It's the history of dining in Bologna. I've known them and been going there for 30 years, they're the best; once you've tried their tagliata, you'll never appreciate any other you've eaten around Italy. I'm not even talking about the desserts; that would be an easy win. The service staff, all of them, are kind and professional. In short, it's like being at home, but...much better!

My colleagues took me there to try their famous tagliata. What can I say? The dish was very well prepared, and the meat was impeccably tender. The meat was served in a baking dish, poached in oil, and then dipped in as much bread as you like. The flavor of the meat was average. The side dishes, generously served on a tray, were also good. Bolognese cuisine worth trying again. The price surprised me; having only ordered a main course, side dish, and a quarter of wine, I would have included at least a bottle of good wine for the price I paid, or at least I should have left feeling quite full.

A quaint trattoria. Parking is limited. We went on Tuesday, luckily we had a reservation. Everything was good: first courses, tagliata with vegetables. Excellent fried egg in the tagliata pan. Excellent service and the Amaro del Gallo liqueur. A flaw was the modest house wine. Fairly priced.

The food is good, but the prices are outrageous.
I've never seen a 25-euro Bolognese cutlet, and I've had better.
The fact that they don't provide a menu at the table where you can see how much you're spending is very clever and unfair.
