The food was very good, and the service was also friendly. It was supposedly outside, but no one else was smoking. The only thing missing was the nervous owner, who was moving from table to table, trying to watch the game on his tablet with poor internet, chain-smoking. ugh.

Trattoria del Caveoso was a great restaurant with a charming atmosphere! I was lucky to get a table on a busy night without having a reservation. I ordered the Paccheri Del Casaro - a unique and delicious dish which was amazing, I loved the crushed peppers! Highly recommend this spot for an authentic dining experience!

We went here for lunch after not getting a table the evening before. Decided to try the antipasti completo - cheese, cold cuts and several specialities. It was amazing, and a lot!!
Sadly didn't make it to dinner before we had to leave Matera, but when we come back, we definitely will.

Located among the Sassi of Matera, the atmosphere was great and the wait was short despite the restaurant being packed. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent.
We had a mixed antipasto with an excellent selection of local cured meats and cheeses. The orecchiette were delicious, and the stuffed ravioli (the dish of the day) recommended by the waiter were truly excellent!

We dined at this restaurant on our first evening in Matera.
We were lucky enough to eat inside the restaurant, which is carved into the rock, creating a charming and unique setting.
The food is delicious and original; we were won over!
However, the biggest drawback of this restaurant was the service. We felt unwelcome, and many of the waiters were quite cold. Furthermore, we felt really rushed to finish our meal (as soon as our plates were cleared, the waitress was rushing us to get dessert). What a shame, since the food is so good...

We were at this restaurant located in the center of Matera. The place is very nice, as is undoubtedly all of Matera. The service was very attentive and kind, the menu interesting, the dishes well-made. It's a shame that, like many other places, let's say touristy, the prices have risen, perhaps a little too much in our opinion. In short, the roots of these places, let's say authentic, have been lost, and in their place are souls only places for tourists. In short, if you're in the area, it's worth trying, but I repeat, in proportion, the prices in our opinion are a little high for a meat and not seafood menu.

Gran selección de platos italianos, con algunos platos de la región Basilicata.
Bonita zona de estar, interior y exterior.
Servicio amable rápido.
Restaurante limpio e impecable.
Buena selección de vinos, la mayor parte proviene de la región Basilicata.
Precios razonables, hermosa vista a los sassi, y niños agradables.
