After seeing the ad in the paper, we decided to go for paella here. We were warmly welcomed (with special attention to our dog), seated in the cool internal courtyard, with excellent sangria waiting for us at the table, and finally served an excellent seafood paella, both rich and plentiful! Fair prices. The perfect end to a day at the beach!

Not a huge selection, but authentic local food. People come especially for the cod, which is excellent with a soft polenta, and is paired with tripe and even stewed cuttlefish.

Trattoria al pescatore

12/08/2026: The cuisine is genuinely of a very good standard. The “Antipasto al pescatore” which is a mix of hot and cold seafood, is truly excellent. The “spaghetti con alici” is also noteworthy: flavorful and perfectly creamy. The fresh grilled fish was also very good, highlighting the quality of the ingredients. Now for the disappointing aspects. The table service staff were rather young and somewhat awkward. They actually served one of our two main courses before the appetizer, showing a lack of attention to the customers. Overall, the cuisine gets full marks, while the table service definitely needs improvement.
11/08/2026: A wonderful fish restaurant right on the canal. Walking up there, you wouldn't guess it would be such a great place, but once you're there... world-class. We had the appetizer platter, mussels, spaghetti aglio e glio (the best I've ever had), dessert, coffee, and drinks. We only paid €80 in total. The waiters were friendly, quick, and welcoming. 👍☀️

21/08/2026: One of the very few restaurants in Gorizia open on Mondays. Delicious gnocchi with goulash sauce.
18/08/2026: On the waitress's recommendation, we tried some typical dishes, all of which were delicious. The gnocchi with plums in particular, which I mentally disagreed with, were quite different from my tastes. The goulash and potatoes in tecia were delicious. The cevichevic (I'm spelling that by heart) were a truly new flavor; I recommend them.
