A true pearl of Ischia! At Trattoria da Peppina di Renato we finally felt we had found the real Italy. The atmosphere was a feast for the senses: authentic, steeped in history and tradition, with every detail in the décor arranged with taste and passion. Francesco, with his stories, guided us not only through the dishes but also through the soul of the island: its soil, its wines, and the deep roots of its cuisine. It felt as though we had been welcomed into the living memory of a family. The grandmother’s meatballs with pine nuts, in their rich tomato sauce, captured me from the very first bite. I truly felt as if they had been prepared by a nonna herself, with that love and patience only a grandmother can give. I can say, without exaggeration, that I had never tasted anything so delicious, so tender, so perfectly balanced. Then came the pasta with rabbit sauce and herbs. Wonderful! Followed by the traditional Ischian rabbit dish, which I had longed to try since arriving on the island. It was intensely aromatic, served with real, rustic fried potatoes. And yes, we followed Francesco’s advice: we even did "la scarpetta"!!! Dipping bread into the rabbit sauce was a revelation. We paired the meal with a local Biancolella, produced just a few houses up the hill: fresh, crisp, and mineral, with that volcanic rock note that gives Ischia its name as the "green island". The evening ended with two special digestifs. One was made of arugula, unique and vibrant, and the other was Piperna, a true spirit of the island. A must try! This was not just dinner, but a journey into tradition, authenticity, and warmth. Thank you from the heart for an unforgettable evening. We will carry this inspiration back to our own little Italian restaurant in Germany, and we hope to return soon, at least once more, to relive this magic.

Wonderful evening. Professional and very helpful staff. Excellent food quality and absolutely reasonable prices. What more can I say... the tradition and history of Ischian cuisine with expertly combined reinterpretations. The place is beautiful and exudes joy with a hint of nostalgia... all accompanied by the greatest voice and guitar on the island of Ischia. Well done guys (did you give your lighter back?)

One of the best Ischian-style rabbits I've ever eaten. Traditional, intense, and enveloping flavors. Fast service. The staff is professional and friendly. A truly special place... special thanks to Roberto and the entire staff!

To get there, you have to travel along a road that isn't particularly easy; it's a bit narrow and bumpy, and once you reach the restaurant, accessing the parking lot can be tricky if you approach from the wrong side. Once you've parked your car, however, the restaurant is easily accessible, and it's gorgeous and quaint, with seating made from old bed railings. There are also terraces from which, when it's light, you're guaranteed a beautiful view. As for the food: everything was delicious!! We had meatballs in tomato sauce (excellent), fried zucchini flowers (outstanding), and then three different first courses, all good. But for something unique, I recommend the bucatini with rabbit, Ischia-style, fabulous. Finally, we had half a rabbit, Ischia-style, very good, and the desserts, also very good. The prices are fair, in line with the quality of the dishes and far from those charged by beachfront restaurants.

Breathtaking views. The owner told me not to exaggerate in my review, otherwise it might seem untrue. But the truth is, this is a spectacular place.

Authentic trattoria, authentic flavors, bold tastes. Friendly and fun service! Tip: when you book, ask for the best route to get there; the GPS takes you through very narrow streets! Ischia-style rabbit, AMAZING!

Location molto bella , peccato per la mancata educazione di uno dei ragazzi alla porta , che per nostro mero errore , poiché non avevamo avvisato che fossimo in 3 piuttosto che in 6 come da prenotazione , abbiamo ricevuto il primo richiamo . Superato questo primo problema , nonostante avessimo notato che la grandezza del tavolo fosse standard , per 3/6/10 persone , richiediamo la password del Wi-Fi , e la risposta sempre dallo stesso soggetto è stata , lo abbiamo ma rendiamo a non darlo… non comprendendo quale fosse l’assurda maleducazione , richiediamo il coniglio e sempre dallo stesso soggetto ci viene risposto , che il coniglio si può avere ma solo se fosse stato prenotato . Per fortuna in seguito un cameriere molto più cordiale ha seguito la nostra domanda (coniglio compreso) , tra l’altro ottimo , tutto è andato liscio. Mi dispiace che per una tale maleducazione un posto così unico e tra L altro ottimo debba esser valutato negativamente .

Cibo buonissimo, personale accogliente e location molto carina e particolare. Da provare e riprovare se si passa per Ischia.
