A dinner for two to sample Friulian dishes. Everything was good. The portions were perhaps a little on the small side. The service was kind and friendly. The place is small, so it can be difficult to find a table. Reservations are recommended.

This place was truly a wonderful discovery. Its location is ideal: a quiet corner just steps from one of the city's busiest streets. Upon entering, you find yourself in a small space (I recommend making a reservation, especially for dinner), but it's very well-kept and comfortable. The menu features a few home-style dishes, perfectly prepared yet elegant. The desserts are homemade and absolutely worth trying. The service is also excellent. As for the prices, while you might expect a little less, in my opinion, besides being worth it, you have to consider the overall offering.

Today for lunch...discovered by chance, we ducked in, but unfortunately there was no room given the limited number of tables. When I replied, "We could eat in the kitchen," they seated us. We had lunch with two first courses, a frico, and two exquisite homemade desserts. A bottle of Merlot from Castello di Spessa...still water to taste, and then off to the famous Caffè degli Specchi. I recommend this Trieste trattoria for its friendliness, authentic cuisine, and reasonable prices!

The staff is awesome, we showed up on a Monday evening with no reservations but they fit us in. The food was spectacular and without a doubt would return. Highly recommend.

We came as a group for a party and immediately received a special welcome. Signora Mara is truly a kind and special person, friendly and helpful. The waitress was patient (we were a bit noisy) and very quick to accommodate all our requests. Small but welcoming location. Let's get to the food. The salami with onion and polenta was delicious. Recommended as a starter. The vegetable orzotto and ravioli were a must-try. The ravioli melted in your mouth. The frico with polenta was very tasty and delicate. And the goulash? Well, we finished that almost immediately. The warm bread that accompanied the sauce was a real treat. The tiramisu had a good consistency and the portion was just right. In short, if you want to taste typical Friulian products, call Signora Mara and she'll make it happen.
