Authentic Friulian home cooking! Small, intimate, and authentic atmosphere! Delicious, traditional dishes, the highlights being the frico and gubana! Highly recommended! Friendly, professional staff! Really good, authentic home cooking!

From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping into my grandmother’s home warm, comforting, and full of love. The two ladies running the place were so kind and chatty, which made the experience feel even more personal and lovely. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, the kind of place where you instantly relax. The food was incredible homemade, authentic, and full of flavor. The gnocchi in particular was absolutely delicious, easily one of the best I’ve had. This little hole in the wall spot may look modest from the outside, but it quickly filled up with happy families and couples, which says everything about how special it is.
I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. A true hidden gem.

A gem in Trieste! We managed to get a same-day reservation by messaging on WhatsApp (we’re pretty sure it was Mara herself).
From the moment we stepped through the door, we felt totally at home. The restaurant was packed with locals, which is always a good sign.
We tried several local dishes (gnocchi di pane con goulash, cjalsons al burro con ricotta, frico con patate) and a wonderful local (Friulano) wine. Everything was comfort food. The restaurant is away from the overly touristy areas, but still reserve if you can!
Mara’s hospitality made the experience even more special. She even shaved a few euros off our bill to a round number. A must-visit in Trieste!

We went back two nights in a row because we loved it so much. Mara is very welcoming, but with a genuine and natural touch. The polenta was perfect, the rabbit was flavorful, and the trio of sautéed vegetables was delicious. Service was prompt, thanks in part to Rebecca's professionalism. An experience not to be missed if you're in Trieste.
