Lunch passing through Trieste. We wanted a typical Friulian place and this little trattoria is just like that. Mara cooks everything fresh, typical dishes of the area, homemade pasta and desserts all made by her. Delicious Cjarsons stuffed with herbs and salted ricotta cream, a must-try frico. Right portions. The environment is familiar like in grandmother's house, the very kind owner.

Wonderful, family restaurant. Cjalson's a discovery! Goulash tender and fine... optimal (as an Austrian I can judge it), as dessert Gubana with grappa another discovery!! Mango sorbetto wonderful. Boss and staff heartwarming and competent. Reserve!

A fantastic place, I leave a piece of my heart here for the goodness of the freshly eaten rabbit. Mara is a fantastic person, the dishes offered are simply delicious: there is care and attention in the choice of raw materials. Really all very good, wonderful, don't miss this place.

Really amazing local place in full Trieste style. We arrived at 7pm on a Tuesday in the high season and they were booked solid, but squeezed is in as long as we promised to be done by 9. We tried the unique local ravioli, the house specialty cheese and potatoes, as well as the polenta with cheese and walnuts and roast veggies. All were amazing. Sadly we didn't get a chance to try the goulash. Service was fantastic, the restaurant is cozy and cute, and you immediately feel at home. Our lack of Italian and the staff's modest English didn't get in the way at all, but if you have a phrase book or Google translate, you can use it here. Overall an amazing experience!

Trattoria Mara is a gem of Trieste. Our party if 8 thought the food was outstanding. The service was excellent. I felt like I was sitting in my Nonna's kitchen eating dinner Thank you for an amazing meal and a lovely evening. I could not recommend Da Mara more.

Small but very nice place, home cooking that allowed us to try the traditional flavors with abundant dishes at very honest prices. Reservation recommended given the limited number of seats.
Mara's goulash is one of the best in Trieste!!

Family dinner. Fabulous gnocchi with ragù, delicious cheese gnocchi and fabulous goulash with polenta. Traditional restaurant atmosphere. Right portions, not too abundant. Correct account. Highly recommended!
