Excellent trattoria at the foot of the Maiella. Excellent and generous first courses with a homemade flavor. The meat-based second courses feature lamb and local veal, along with excellent side dishes. Reservations are recommended.

The food was excellent, good quality (we had the chitarra al tartufo, which was well seasoned with real truffles, not the usual oils), and the portions were truly generous. The staff was truly kind and attentive. Highly recommended.

Excellent lunch at Trattoria Lucia! I can't say enough about this place, which gave me an unforgettable culinary experience. The appetizer of dried mozzarella with sausage was a true revelation. The mozzarella, with its soft and stringy texture, paired perfectly with the intense, savory flavor of the sausage. A simple yet brilliant combination, which paved the way for an explosion of flavors. But the real triumph of the lunch was the grilled lamb. The meat, so tender and cooked to perfection, melted in the mouth, leaving a delicate and enveloping flavor. The freshness of the ingredients and the mastery of the preparation were clearly evident. The service was impeccable, and the welcoming, family atmosphere made the lunch even more enjoyable. Trattoria Lucia is a place I recommend to all lovers of good food, but not to those with a pizzuta P.

The food at Lucia's is excellent. The peppers are excellent, the lamb ribs are divine, the sausage with scamorza is delicious. And finally, the homemade desserts are truly exquisite! Lucia is a delightful old lady with a smile that will warm your heart. Stop by and eat at Lucia's, you won't regret it!

Scoperto per caso dopo una visita alle Grotte del Cavallone...tipica trattoria a conduzione familiare... Piatti cucinati benissimo... Personale gentilissimo e accogliente... Locale rustico ma che trasmette tutto il calore famigliare... Ci vediamo presto!!!

For a milestone like my 50th birthday, I was looking for something that truly represented me—and they nailed it. The cake was a perfect balance of flavor and elegance: every detail, from the decoration to the choice of flavors, spoke to me. It's rare to find artisans capable of transforming a dessert into such a personal and memorable experience. Thank you for making this day even more special. I'll definitely be back for more! 😍

Bar Trattoria L'onofrio

11/10/2025: This trattoria perfectly represents the strategic backbone of what suburban dining in Italy should be. It's a small-to-medium sized establishment in Villa Santa Maria (CH), boasting the reputation of being the Home of Chefs because its excellent hotel management school has consistently produced numerous nationally and internationally renowned chefs over the decades. In my opinion, Onofrio Caffè is a practically perfect trattoria of its kind. Overlooking the Sangro River below, it has small, welcoming spaces and well-spaced tables. Its menu doesn't exceed 3-4 options per category (appetizers, first courses, second courses, desserts), but each dish perfectly showcases the region and its excellence. The portions are generous and the prices are truly excellent considering the quality of the ingredients. I would definitely recommend the pasta alla Onofrio (which, however, isn't always available on the menu) and certainly the excellent lamb, offered at a very fair price. The owner-chef waits at the tables and is always courteous and smiling, an excellent host. Bravo! Highly recommended for a lunch stop. It's a shame it's closed for dinner...
23/09/2025: The menu isn't very extensive, but the dishes are truly amazing! The prices are very reasonable.
