A cozy restaurant with local vibes and food that felt homemade in the best way! Had the scallops and two pasta dishes - the pasta with clams and tomatoes was incredible! Great portion sizes, and a Venezian menu that felt very different and refreshing.

We wanted to find a place frequented by locals and this is the ideal place. They have treated us wonderfully, they have been super kind. We had cod with polenta, it was very good. We have also ordered a super delicious mix of starters as well. Thank you so much!

You need to make a reservation, it opens at 7, the taste is great, the service is great, the presentation is also very nice. I just asked for extra salt, of course we Turks cannot eat without salt.

📍 Gigio Restaurant, Venice 🍽️ Venetian liver with polenta: a timeless classic that has all the flavor of the Venetian tradition. This dish surprised me with the perfect balance between the sweetness of the onion and the intense flavor of the liver, all accompanied by a soft polenta that completed the bite perfectly. The welcoming atmosphere and the rustic furnishings of the restaurant make the experience even more authentic!

Old trattoria in Cannaregio. Away from the tourist traps of San Marko. Excellent sea food and superb house wine. Friendly staff. The creamed cod, the sardines al saor, cuttlefish in black and crunchy octopus to die for.

Ottima trattoria, cibo buono, personale accogliente. Spaghetti alle vongole buonissimi così come il fritto. Le porzioni sono abbondanti. La mia cagnolina accolta senza problemi. Ci tornerò sicuramente!

Das Lokal liegt in Cannareggio direkt an der Rennmeile. Definitiv muss man am Wochenende reservieren - sie belegen in 2 Schichten. Das Lokal ist nicht sehr groß, gemütlich eingerichtet. Der Service ist flott, das Essen ist gut. Wir teilten 3 Portionen cozze zu viert ... war schon zu viel - und hatten danach noch je ein Essen. 1,5 l Wein und 3 Wasser, 2 Desserts. 60 Euro pro Person ... völlig in Ordnung. Tendenziell würde ich sagen, daß die Fisch- bzw Meeresgetiergerichte besser sind als die Fleischgerichte. Nichts besonderes, aber es gibt auch nichts zu meckern. Empfehlung: ja

DONA ONESTA

24/01/2025: Overall a great restaurant in Venice. We booked a reservation online a few days before our trip. Ordered red wine, the clam pasta and the seafood pasta and it was amazing. I would go back!
21/01/2025: Our choice on our first evening in Venice was Trattoria Dona Onesta. The friendly staff offered us champagne while we were waiting at the door, then we sipped our wine accompanied by gnocchi and meat grazie mille 🙏

Osteria Da Fiore

06/02/2025: It’s a long time Venice institution and has held a Michelin star for decades as well. While, to me, the finesse is a bit excessive and I prefer the older homey approach, Da Fiore is undeniably an amazing restaurant and is a beautiful option for a special night out with your loved one. There are plenty of Venetian staples, refined and made lighter and more upscale here, as well as plenty of new inventive dishes, less typical but still steeped in tradition. The crab meat was delightful, the cod (baccala) amazing as it can only be in Venice, the eel with herb sauce and bitter lettuce beautifully balanced and the tuna fresh and clean, made in a Cesar / panzanella style. The wine list here is amazing, the markups sometimes a touch high but it is a luxury restaurant in the end. As I said before, a gorgeous place for a special night out. Love it.
