Trattoria Da Galileo In Livorno

We were tired of the meat-centric dishes in Tuscany so we decided to take a detour here on our way to Firenze from Siena. Best decision ever!! The seafood was amazingly fresh and the lady host was very nice and friendly. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

Excellent trattoria, excellent cacciucco. I haven't eaten cacciucco like this in a long time. We had a great time, the lady who runs the room was very good, she made us feel at ease, always. We will definitely be back, keep it up, a great example of professionalism.

I tasted their legendary Cacciucco, good and certainly cooked 'a modino', even though it is not my favourite dish, I passed.

Dinner on Saturday night (without having booked I was welcomed very well) we returned from Galileo without eating their (absolutely the best in the whole city) cacciucco alla livornese. I was surprised by the replacement of the excellent appetizers that I had tasted the previous time (a couple of months ago) with others that were not up to the same level, neither in terms of choice nor in terms of taste; even the presentation and design of the plating disappointed us. The mussels with beans, or the octopus with potatoes (baked) are certainly not up to the level of what was on the previous menu. The mixed fried food, good both in terms of serving size and quality but not exceptional. Good, but average the raw fish dish. Fast service and pleasant and professional staff. As for the Vermentino delle colline pisane it should be reviewed..... Overall a good restaurant but excellent in the preparation of the cacciucco. The noise of the bathroom door slamming is very annoying to the diners.

Avete presente quando entrate in un locale e vi sembra di essere a casa? Ecco, da Galileo vi sentirete così, complice anche la gentilezza del gestore, disponibile e cortese. Abbiamo preso, in tre, un antipasto misto, una patatina fritta, verdure grigliate; a seguire un cacciucco che ci volevano le luci d'ingombro come i TIR per vedere dove finiva, una frittura di paranza di valore assoluto e una frittura no lisca. Un ottimo Vermentino Donnaolimpia 2023, consigliato dal patròn , caffè e andare. Il tutto in questa avvolgente ambientazione di assoluto piacere e tranquillità. Una piacevolissima sosta da ripetere senz'altro, anche in considerazione del fatto che abbiamo pagato poco più di quanto da noi, a Massa Carrara, si spende per una pizza. Torneremo. Seguite il consiglio di NON ordinare altro se volete mangiare il cacciucco, scritto con quante più "c" possibile; rischiate di lasciare qualcosa di quel bendiddio. Complimenti veramente

A hidden place in the heart of Livorno. A unique, incredible place with high quality products. For those who are curious to try the best caciucco in Livorno, book and enjoy the fresh fish. The only flaw or suggestion is that rosé wine should be served at a lower temperature than room temperature. I recommend to everyone

Can recommended by my daughter, excellent choice, I hadn't eaten a cacciucco like this in years, very good, friendly staff. Excellent price, two portions of cacciuco (tasty for 4 people) a good mixed fry of squid and prawns (just right for 2) mixed bruscbette, a bottle of wine, 4 Livornese punches 140 euros. I'll be back for sure. Wait for me

Restaurant specializes in Livorno-style cacciucco but also other fried fish and paranza dishes. I went to eat the cacciucco and I just found satisfaction. The theater hardware is plentiful and I found it very good. Too bad the presence of a noisy customer with funny sounds

....ma non pensavo così "tanta roba". Locale old style, pieno di foto con personaggi famosi con dedica al proprietario, menù ricco....ma il motivo per cui è famoso è il cacciucco.....TOP e non dico altro. Personale gentile e buon rapporto qualità prezzo.
