We ate at Andreina's today and they didn't mess up a single dish. The fresh pasta with fresh perch sauce and the exceptional fried perch fillets. The desserts were delicious and the view was fantastic. The owners were very kind. Loris, Barbara (Bologna), and our dog Meggy, who was brought a bowl of fresh water.

Today, a lovely stroll along Lake Idro and dinner at Trattoria da Andreina: a restaurant with a spectacular panoramic view where I enjoyed exquisite perch fillets!! The courtesy and kindness of all the staff made the atmosphere special! My compliments, I was completely satisfied. See you next time! I came back and really enjoyed the char with vegetables!! Highly recommended for a relaxing and harmonious evening...well done!!!

A simple restaurant with excellent traditional dishes. The perch is decidedly good, and the first courses are top-notch. A must-visit when in the area.

A small restaurant a few kilometers from the historic center of Idro (unsignposted, use maps). We ate in a shaded loggia with a breathtaking view of the lake, sampling a generous plate of excellent tortelli with whitefish (€9!!) and an equally excellent and generous plate of fried perch fillets (€12!). The owner is quiet but extremely friendly. We'll definitely be back.

11/05/2026: Excellent restaurant, I often go there for business lunches and I must say that the quality is definitely above average!
13/04/2026: Very convenient given its proximity to the highway toll booth. They welcomed us, passing by, without a reservation. Really welcomed. We ordered tagliata and tagliatelle with duck sauce. Excellent selection. Price was average.

Ristorante del Rifugio al Lago del Mortirolo

24/01/2026: To admire the lake, head to the pass. The starting point is the village of Monno, following the road signs. The trek begins by following the unpaved road, continuing along the trail, crossing the Roman bridge (also called Charlemagne's bridge, according to legend, because he built it), and entering the forest to reach the lake and the refuge of the same name. Upon arriving, you'll find Cima Varadega and Monte Pagano. The route is also suitable in winter (snowshoes) and for families. At the refuge, you can enjoy excellent traditional cuisine and relax in the hammocks. Travel time: approximately 2 hours Difficulty: E D+635m Alternatively, you can drive over the Mortirolo Pass, but you'll need to ask for a parking permit.
19/10/2025: My heart's refuge. Beautifully managed restaurant, food that's excellent is an understatement. A gem overlooking Lake Mortirolo. A spectacular experience in every way. Highly recommended.
