Amazing place! We ate wonderfully: tagliatelle, pizzoccherelli, polenta with porcini mushrooms, one of the best I've ever had, and the heart-shaped cake with ricotta and zabaglione was delicious. Excellent lunch with a splendid view of the entire valley.

It was recommended to me by my friend, and it was a truly excellent experience! Everything was excellent—the location, the view, the friendliness and kindness of the staff, and the food! The food was delicious, tasty, and authentic. We'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this place. Don't miss it! It's definitely worth a visit!

A charming place where you can enjoy a peaceful lunch away from the hustle and bustle, immersed in nature. Excellent, flavorful mountain cuisine without being heavy, unlike the ones you'd find elsewhere. Tables with mountain views and attentive, fast service, even with an almost two-year-old. The road to get there takes just a few minutes and is easy to walk (we did it with a stroller). We'll be back!

On Easter Sunday, my husband and I went to eat at this beautiful place, and everything was perfect. 🤩👍🏻The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it was a gorgeous sunny day, which made the surrounding landscape enchanting. We'll be back very soon. 😉

Good quality food, generous portions, friendly, courteous service, reasonable prices, a typical upper Valsassina atmosphere, excellent cleanliness, absolutely recommended, best to book, it's very popular!!!

Always a pleasure to have lunch here. Special dishes and many variations of polenta taragna. The appetizers are a bit pricey, but very good. With dessert and bitter coffee, they're around €35-40 each.

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch at this truly special place, and it was an experience I'll cherish forever ❤️ From the first moment, you can sense the love for this place: the owners are incredibly kind and friendly, making you feel right at home. The food is simply delicious, authentic, and carefully prepared, just like it used to be. But the true soul of the crotto is Grandpa Beppe: a very sweet, authentic person, the kind that makes you smile and makes you feel part of the family. The setting is wonderful, immersed in nature, perfect not only for good food but also for wonderful walks in the surrounding area. A place truly deserving of much love and that I recommend to anyone who wants a true experience, full of flavors, people, and simplicity 💚

14/05/2026: We couldn't have asked for more for our wedding! Rodolfo and Romina were incredibly helpful, perfecting even the smallest detail. From the aperitif, to the lunch, to the cake cutting, and the evening pizza party, everything was impeccable! The waiters were friendly, kind, and never intrusive. The food was so delicious that every guest complimented us on it, and we want to pass it on to Rodolfo: the porcini risotto was cooked to perfection and creamed even better, not to mention the meat that melted in your mouth; for the cake (on Rodolfo's recommendation), we chose a fruit Chantilly cream, which was also exceptional! A spectacular location with a breathtaking view that became even more magical at sunset. A special thanks also to Romina, the wedding planner at Castagno, for her attention to every detail and for accommodating our every request. You can see they have a lot of passion for what they do. Five well-deserved stars
13/05/2026: Dinner with friends. Informal, clean, and welcoming. Traditional cuisine with good-quality ingredients. Note that the menu includes some gluten-free dishes. Good value for money.

12/08/2026: A little tricky to get there, but Maps will take you there. It's a very pretty place, not too many seats. We had lunch under the covered porch, which is a nice shade in this weather. The food is good, but you need to reserve for pizzoccheri. Everything is homemade, even the cakes. There's a lovely vegetable garden in front of the house.
12/07/2026: We went for lunch on a hot summer Sunday. The porch is completely shaded and quite cool. The pizzoccheri are very good, and the lady came back and asked if we wanted more. The desserts were good. Very fair prices. A truly pleasant, quiet place where the food is good. Recommended!!!
