A trattoria—or rather, Piola—that perfectly reflects Turin's culinary tradition. I have to give it four stars because I didn't find anything exceptional in the dishes I chose, but they leave me wanting to return and try their entire repertoire. Approved, see you next time!

A typical Turin pizzeria with just a few tables and a retro, family-friendly atmosphere. We tried some appetizers, including vitello tonnato, stuffed peppers, primo sale cheese with caramelized onion, and tongue with salsa verde—all quite good.

Trattoria torinese verace vicina alla stazione. Servizio rapidissimo e piatti della tipica tradizione torinese, da consumare per una pausa pranzo veloce se dovete prendere un treno o tornare al lavoro. La sera su prenotazione.

Trattoria Bar Coco's is exactly what you hope to find when searching for authentic, no-frill Piemontese cuisine in Turin. Conveniently located near Piazza Madama Cristina, this charming trattoria delivers on all fronts: exceptional regional dishes, wallet-friendly prices, and that warm, rustic atmosphere that makes you feel like a local. Wooden tables, chairs all different, old postcards on the walls alongside a poster of the Grande Torino, and paper placemats featuring Tex comics. Coco's has been around since 1973 and it shows. After multiple visits, I can confidently say every dish has been outstanding and consistently high quality. The kitchen clearly takes pride in their craft. The Tris Piemontese is a perfect introduction to the region's flavors—featuring peppers with anchovies "al verde," primo sale cheese paired with orange jam, and their signature rabbit prepared tuna-style. The Ravioles della Val Variata al Tomino di Melle con Panna e Noce Moscata, the Risotto con Asparagi e Crescenza, and Gnocchi al Castelmagno all use simple ingredients, when treated with care and passion. The manu changes often, so come often and try something different every time. Open 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM for lunch service; no reservations. Arrive early as this place is popular with the locals. Open for dinner on Friday and Saturday; reservations recommended.

Lunch break at work: Good good.... unfortunately given the crazy turnout, little time to eat and still have to wait for a seat to become free. I really liked the "old Turin piola" atmosphere full of images and posters and with the 60s/70s wooden furniture, with the counter etc etc. Highly recommended. Prices are normal for the area and the quality of the products.

Ristorante accogliente e autentico con cucina regionale. Il servizio è cordiale e competente, il cibo è molto ben preparato e tutto ha un prezzo ragionevole. Consigliato.

11/10/2025: It is right to review the professionalism of this place. This evening, for the first time I went to this place with a friend, I ordered a slice of meat (the most expensive on the menu) and I was very hungry, when the slice arrived I was a little disappointed by the quantity of meat (I swear, I'm honest, not because I was hungry, I evaluated!) but the real problem is that the meat was inexplicably cold, really cold, obviously it can happen, especially on a Saturday night, at this point, I make a mistake, rather than send the meat back, I decide to eat it because my stomach was burning at that moment, but I was really annoyed, we are all willing to pay for something that shows quality and the right quantity, but at that moment while I was eating, for me both elements were missing that would justify how much I would have paid for that dish. Remaining hungry, both my colleague and I decided to order another dish to share. At that point, I pointed out that even though I had finished my dish, it was really cold. The owner (or manager, I don't know) first listened to me, then expressed apology, saying he could have made up for it if I had only pointed it out sooner. After that, he also performed the most professional gesture I'd ever experienced in a similar situation (which was absolutely not expected or appropriate, given that I hadn't even sent the dish back). I won't go into the merits or specifics, because I believe every restaurateur knows how to distinguish and recognize the different contexts in their establishment and how to act correctly. But for my part, I absolutely must commend the enormous professionalism I encountered in handling this situation. Congratulations. I will visit you again because every dish that came out of the kitchen looked fantastic and the service was impeccable. Beautiful and well-kept establishment. Highly recommended.
28/09/2025: A missed opportunity. The place is nice, the service professional and friendly, the wine list isn't terribly long but has some nice labels, and the menu offers interesting options. The prices are low. It's a shame about the preparation of the dishes, which are generally disappointing: my veal with tuna sauce was edible, but nothing more; my tajarin alla finanziera was extremely dry and disjointed; my wife's grissinopololi was dry and breaded with practically whole breadsticks (😀); the pepper and rabbit risotto, my friends said, was cold and with the peppers dominating... A shame. Maybe they had a problem in the kitchen...
