We were looking for an osteria, and we found it! When we went, I was worried it would be the usual tourist-friendly place. However, once inside, I realized it's absolutely authentic, fully reflecting what a trattoria should be: few frills and plenty of substance. So don't expect a refined atmosphere, but rather a warm, helpful staff. But let's get to the reason we're here: the food. Everything is simple, tasty, but not heavy. It feels like dinner at your aunt's, the one who cooks well. Simple dishes, the fruit of imagination and home-made care. The pici with mushrooms and sausage were excellent, the fried chicken and rabbit were good, and I'd say the fried zucchini flowers were fresh and fried well. Even the side dish, beans, and the dessert, tiramisu, reflect the spirit of the place. Well-made. In short, just steps from the city center squares, there's this corner of paradise for those who, like me, seek substance over appearance. The service is quick and attentive, with little touches that brought a pleasant smile to our faces. Ah, the bill. Honest. An appetizer, a first course, a second course, a side dish, dessert, house wine, and water: €68. It doesn't get much more honest than that.

A fantastic tagliata, I think I've had one of the juiciest and tastiest tagliatas I've ever had here! The strictly organic olive oil is also impressive—little details that make all the difference. We'll be back soon!

Always a great place, I often go back, among the best in Florence. Tuscan and varied menu, fantastic first and second courses, especially the peposo. Excellent wine list. Exceptional value for money. But above all, very kind and welcoming staff, as it should always be. We will be back with friends very soon!

The food was absolutely delicious! The service and ambiance were perfect. For starters, we had melon with ham. For our main course, we had the Fiorentina biscuit. The food was excellent; we'll definitely be back.

Esta ha sido nuestra mejor comida en Italia! John Marco era encantador y nos dio mi marido y yo fantástica comida y recomendaciones de vino. El paradelle con ragu toscano era la perfección y él dividió el plato para nosotros, que fue apreciado. Tuvimos el Osso Bucco y Baccala para Secondi y compartimos un tiramisú de postre. El servicio fue tan bueno como la comida. Esperamos volver!

Avendo passato molti anni della mia vita a mangiare (anche) toscano, e bene, in famiglia - fra mamma e nonne e persino una prozia, ognuna delle quali aveva le sue specialità -, non ho mai avuto un gran desiderio di sperimentare le trattorie fiorentine, neppur le più celebrate. E ho resistito decenni ai consigli di una delle suddette nonne, che abitava lì vicino, che, abitando a sì e no cento metri da lì, magnificava la cucina di Cesarino. Poi, circa una anno fa, dovendo incontrare una collega di passaggio che insegna in un'università americana collocata lì accanto, mi è finalmente capitato di metterci piede in una giornata piovosa. L'impressione era stata discreta, non rispondente alle aspettative, ma per formulare un giudizio un pranzo era troppo poco. Ora, dopo aver ripetuto l'esperienza, confermo quanto avevo penato lì per lì: non male, ma niente di speciale. O meglio: qualche piatto riuscito, qualcuno no. La prima volta avevo provato uno sformatino - buono - il baccalà (un po' pesante) e un dolce (così così). Questa volta, ho apprezzato l'abbondante frittura di alici e i morbidi carciofi fritti, ma il risotto a carciofi e Castelmagno (quasi invisibile) mi ha decisamente deluso: troppo cotto e scarso di sapore, e anche il pollo fritto, tanto atteso dalla mia commensale, si è rivelato stopposo (meglio le patate e lo sformatino di verdure iniziale). Considerato che due antipasti, un primo, un secondo, due contorni, un dolce e un amaro sono costati 80 euro, e che il servizio è minimalista, oltre la media la mia valutazione non può andare.
