Great little spot near the train station. The scampi and bisque ravioli is incredible. Would eat here again.

I went to Trattoria Cecio with a couple of friends and honestly it felt like one of those proper Roman places, I mean maybe not fancy but exactly what we wanted. The carbonara I had was creamy and rich, I liked it a lot, maybe even too much sauce but still good, and my friend’s pizza had this thin crust with nice chew, toppings also tasty but I keep thinking maybe I should have ordered that instead, haha. The atmosphere was cozy, also lively, people talking loud sometimes but it didn’t bother me, actually gave a kind of authentic feeling, not the fake tourist vibe. The staff was friendly, like they didn’t rush us at all, even if almost all tables were full. One waiter, he had a red apron a bit stained, suggested some local wine and honestly it matched perfect with the pasta, I was surprised. Prices, yeah not cheap, but close to center and food was good so I guess it’s ok. I repeat, not cheap, but not crazy either. We left satisfied and I was thinking hmm maybe I will come back, or maybe not, depends how hungry I am next time.

Found this restaurant totally by chance and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious and service was great!

Trattoria Cecio is a highly recommended restaurant located very close to Termini Station. The excellent quality of the food is particularly noteworthy: Everything appears freshly prepared, many ingredients are homemade – even the pasta is made in-house, which is immediately noticeable in the taste. The menu offers a good selection of classic Italian dishes without seeming overly expensive. The restaurant's prices are absolutely fair and reasonable, especially considering the quality. The location is also convenient: just a few steps from the station, making it easy to stop in even with luggage or while passing through. Directly across the street is a second restaurant, also part of the same establishment – ​​a good alternative if it gets too crowded. One small drawback: The waiter seemed a bit irritated and less than welcoming during our visit, but this doesn't detract too much from the otherwise positive overall impression. Overall, this is an authentic Roman restaurant with fresh cuisine that I can definitely recommend.

Carbonara was tasty, bacon wasn't very crispy. Oxtail pasta was alright in terms of taste, wish there was more meat. There are charges for bread served! Nonetheless a good meal.

Il 17 maggio ho mangiato alla Trattoria Il Cecio a Roma e ho notato che la ragazza di Cuneo che mangiava da sola al tavolo accanto al mio, dopo aver pagato (lasciando anche una mancia di 5 euro), si è alzata lasciando sul tavolo quello che mi sembra un gancio porta borsa.
