Trattoria Caprese In Trieste

05/04/2024: Good cocktails, good service and an overall lovely place in Trieste. Big inside!

26/03/2024: I went to the draw to celebrate my birthday and I must say that everything went well. I called a week in advance to find the place (midweek) and had no problems with the reservation. I had asked them to celebrate after dinner with cake and sparkling wine (cake cutting service included for a fee). The place is quite large, well decorated and that evening it was not very crowded and the staff were welcoming. They were willing to keep the cake in the fridge from afternoon until evening. Overall the evening went well but I was disappointed by two things. The first: when we arrived, while waiting for the last guests, I had asked for some appetizers but they told me that it wasn't possible because the aperitif time was already over (I was thinking of simple popcorn) - probably a simple misunderstanding between me and them. The second: I asked them to cut the cake (because otherwise I would have to do it myself but I would have to bring the saucers) to have a better service - I was expecting dessert plates with a fork but I received plastic/biodegradable plates... Beyond this, the staff was courteous and I was very happy with the sparkling wines: an organic Moscato! If anyone wants to celebrate in a simple way I recommend it!
