Trattoria Bosco In Chignolo po

Authentic and truly tasty food. It's a historic restaurant tucked away in the middle of nowhere, but it's worth a visit regardless. We combined a visit to the nearby Chignolo Po Castle with lunch here. Highly recommended.

We ate well at average prices (for appetizers and first courses) or low prices (for water, wine, dessert, coffee, and liqueurs). The staff was courteous, and the atmosphere was informal.

Destination: Bosco Chignolo Po', a family welcome, you feel at HOME. We chose the main courses for lunch: lamb shank with artichokes and roast pork with quince, they melted in the mouth. If I have to "cheat" I have to do it well I tell myself and we go to choose the desserts: a fresh millefeuille with cream and tiramisu with coffee cream. We finish with an excellent coffee and a limoncello. What can I say, better than this,,, Monica's kindness,,,. You will understand it when you go there,,,. The menu, you will not know what to choose, so many delicacies,,,, and prices not excessive. Reservations recommended on the weekend, 😉

A basic but welcoming place The food was delicious. I ate very well, but if I had to give it a 10, I'd give it to the rabbit with chestnuts. The lady in the kitchen makes you feel at home. The desserts are a little less so, but that's all I can say. Il Bosco Trattoria. Stop by without hesitation.

An excellent trattoria about 60 km from Milan, just under a kilometer from a bend in the Po River, which marks one of the borders between Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna. We stumbled upon it by chance after visiting the fascinating Chignolo Po Castle, about a 10-minute drive away. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, with rustic yet tasteful furnishings. The staff is courteous and very efficient, and service is surprisingly prompt despite the large number of guests. The typical local menu consists of a few dishes, all of which are of excellent quality. Specialties include the pisarei with beans, the stew, the lamb stew with artichokes, and the mascarpone and chocolate tart. Trattoria-style prices. Reservations are much better on weekends. Highly recommended.
