Frequento di tanto in tanto questa trattoria da almeno 40 anni, sempre con molta soddisfazione, del mio palato e del mio apparato digerente. Da consigliare a chi ama la cucina piemontese e anche lombarda.

Specializing in Piedmont cuisine, I recommend ordering the steaks. The desserts are also very good. Excellent service, and they serve fairly quickly. There were two of us, and it came to 90, including two main courses, water, dessert, and wine.

The BEST osso buco!!! Was staying at Savona 18 hotel and found this gem down the street...ended up eating there twice and ordering the osso buco twice. Great atmosphere--cozy, charming, inviting, authentic! Great service--attentive, welcoming, friendly, funny. All-around one of the best dinners I had on my vacation! Try them!

Always a satisfaction to dine here. The welcome of the dining room manager and the "receptionist" is truly an element to underline: kind, present, professional and welcoming. The very knowledgeable staff, especially a boy with glasses who served us this evening; very attentive, well-prepared and very polite with cooking (it is not obvious to hear Please Chef, Thank you Chef from the dining room staff, he always used this way of addressing himself, I appreciated it very much). Always excellent menu and quality.

Good “old Italy” address, pleasant service, real trattoria with period decor. A real nice place to get out of the tourist places

Sono andato a pranzo con Amici,antipasto misto molto buono e abbondante,molto apprezzato il vitello tonnato e i peperoni con salsa ,primi piatti molto buoni e curati,servizio eccellente e molto attento,lo consiglio vivamente.

10/07/2025: This restaurant is amazing. The food is great. We went back a second time, because it was so wonderful. The staff is very sweet. The food is quick, but definitely wonderful. We also had tiramisu and the veal, also very good. People should definitely eat here if they visit this area!
09/07/2025: I ate at the osteria last week and had a good dinner. I found the bill in line with the very expensive prices in Milan. We each had a dish, a glass of wine, and a sorbet, and spent about 66 euros. I would have liked to try the risotto alla Milanese, but it was 36 degrees at 8 pm. I would return to try other dishes.

28/06/2025: As a Milanese I am always be the proud to dine at Al Matarel. Not only is food authentic and delicious, but this family run business is an icon in our city for its team, service and ambient! Our favourite Milanese in the heart of the city 🫶🏻
25/06/2025: A wonderful family-style restaurant with absolutely delicious food. The service and hospitality were outstanding everything was simply excellent!
