Extraordinary fixed menu at €28 with: very abundant and typical appetizers including bread with chickpea hummus and cruschi peppers, crischi pepper omelettes, grilled vegetables, typical cured meats. First course to choose between strascinati mushrooms sausage and crusco pepper and agnolotti stuffed with ricotta with pork sauce. Water and coffee included. Very sweet, welcoming and familiar staff.

Typical dishes, clean environment and very friendly staff. We arrived half an hour late compared to the reservation made days before due to the road closure, but they still made us sit and taste their delicacies. Excellent food and excellent quality.

When searching on social media for a restaurant where you can eat in Castelmezzano, it is the most mentioned. We had a great time.... Satisfying fixed menu and excellent quality food.... very helpful owners.

A restaurant that I highly recommend, here you can eat excellent dishes cooked with excellent raw materials.
You can feel the Lucanian flavor in the dishes, in the hospitality and in the air you breathe.
Very abundant dishes, even the starter could have been enough to satisfy one's hunger.
The first as dish of the day, very good...orecchiette with chickpeas, mushrooms and crusco pepper.
The guy in the room is very kind, knowledgeable and above all very attentive.
Absolutely good price.
If you happen to be in Castelmezzano it is an obligatory stop.

Ottima sosta in questa Rustica Trattoria, che propone cucina locale con ingredienti ben scelti e cucinati.
Il titolare si è dimostrato particolarmente attento e simpatico.

Sono stata a pranzo per la prima volta con la famiglia.
Il Vecchio Scarpone offre un'autentica cucina tipica con un'atmosfera intima e accogliente, con due proprietari molto gentili. I piatti sono ottimi, il servizio è eccellente e i prezzi onesti.
