Typical trattoria where you feel at home. Good and plentiful traditional dishes. All in the wonderful context of Castelmezzano. Highly recommended!!

Let's talk about a restaurant. Warm, welcoming, protective environment. You feel at home even if you live hundreds of kilometers away. Antonio is an honest person, he does an excellent job and above all he puts you at ease, even if only with a coffee (but not only). We have been to Trattoria twice in our short stay in Castelmezzano for the end of 2024, and both times we left extremely satisfied. The typical Lucanian appetizer is a real treat, abundant and varied with cured meats, cheeses and omelettes with onion and bran. But the real gems are the first courses: if the strascinata with crusco pepper and sausage is the title track of the album, the fresh Orecchiette with chickpeas and mushrooms made me move, and the tonnarello with chestnut was no different. On New Year's Eve we also enjoyed the second course (I guarantee you that the generosity of the portions makes you choose either a first or second course, unless you have a giant stomach), a truly excellent mixed grill of local products, with house wine and kindly dessert offered by Antonio. I assure you that the quality of the entire cuisine is absolutely incredible for the prices offered, much more than honest (and which I really don't understand how anyone can complain about, honestly). Ultimately, we felt like we were guests of friends, and we will return with great pleasure.

A simple place that reflects the poetry in which you immerse yourself upon entering the town; very simple but well looked after. Affable and attentive owner but above all very proud of his cuisine and that of Lucania: don't look for chips, ketchup and mayonnaise. All very good. Average prices. Only the dessert was not homemade....but otherwise I recommend it. In fact, we returned for lunch and the owner, recognizing us, treated us "differently"

Locale assolutamente fuori dal comune, personale gentilissimo, molto alla mano, famigliare diciamo. Le pietanze sono gustose e varie, cucinate in modo sapiente, attingendo alla tradizione, le porzioni sono generose, prezzi contenuti. Sicuramente torneremo.

Siamo stati accolti con estrema cura e gentilezza dal proprietario, che non ha mai mancato di avvicinarsi al tavolo per chiedere se tutto fosse di nostro gradimento: i piatti vuoti parlavano da soli ;) Abbiamo degustato un ottimo vino rosso "Carteggio" a tutto pasto, abbinato ai piatti tipici lucani della tradizione su consiglio dello chef. In foto l'ottimo antipasto accompagnato dai peperoni cruschi DOP.
