First time in Castelmezzano and the first place we ate. We arrived for lunch after 3:20 PM, but were still welcomed and served. The strascinati and peperoni cruschi were excellent. The antipasto frittatine and the house wine were very good. Fair prices and trattoria-style portions, finally!

I stayed in Castelmezzano for three days and had the pleasure of having breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the food was excellent. I highly recommend it. I'll be back myself.

Excellent local food and acceptable service. Even though it was late, they served us lunch. Homemade pasta, an appetizer featuring local varieties and crusco peppers.

It was a surprising discovery. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful. Not to mention his heart: I witnessed a gesture of kindness from him and it moved me. The food was delicious and plentiful, even vegan. I will definitely be back.

Sono stata a pranzo per la prima volta con la famiglia.
Il Vecchio Scarpone offre un'autentica cucina tipica con un'atmosfera intima e accogliente, con due proprietari molto gentili. I piatti sono ottimi, il servizio è eccellente e i prezzi onesti.
