We ended up here by chance while passing through and had a very good meal. The house's specialties are horse meat, which you don't find that often elsewhere. You have to commit to it, but you won't regret it. The pasta (one gnocchi, one bigoli) with horse ragout was good, perhaps a little weakly seasoned. For the main course I had the Spezzattino in umido, which can probably be translated as “horse goulash”. Meat was buttery and tender, but not overcooked. Very fine, even if it could have been seasoned a little more strongly. Grilled polenta as a suitable side dish. My companion had Costata di manzo (beef rib or a type of steak) with mixed salad. Fine, well-cooked and not tough. The prices are absolutely moderate, the service was friendly, even when we had to identify ourselves as non-Italians. If you pass by this way (SS 309) and are curious about a more unusual cuisine, you should take a look.

A trip back in time. A place that has remained unchanged from 50 years ago in terms of environment, service and price! Impeccable food and quality, excellent prices. Not suitable for jocks.

Ci sono passato davanti per molti anni, finchè non ho deciso di provarlo assieme ad alcuni amici. Dotato di un ampio parcheggio, è facilmente raggiungibile in quanto situato a lato della Strada Statale Romera all'altezza di Conche. Ambiente accogliente con ampia sala ben illuminata. Il servizio è veloce ed efficente, un po stile "retrò", nel senso che il rapporto è diretto e il cameriere ti spiega ed eventualmente consiglia i piatti, a differenza del solito menù alla carta appoggiato sul tavolo. Eravamo in 6 ed abbiamo preso a testa, un aperitivo, un antipasto di carne (affettati misti o carne di cavallo), un secondo (a base di cavallo o di manzo), un contorno, dolce, acqua, vino (Rabosello) e caffè, il tutto accompagnato da polenta e pane, spendendo in totale 172€ (meno di 30€ a testa). I piatti, non molto abbondandi, erano tutti buoni, in particolare lo spezzatino di cavallo, molto morbito e gustoso e il tiramisù. Se devo trovare un difetto, personalmente non mi sono piaciuti i piselli. Consigliato a chi vuole assaggiare la carne di cavallo senza per forza spendere cifre esorbitanti.
