The food is good, but I don't like those uncomfortable 50x50cm tables. I had carbonara and Roman-style tripe. Good.

If you're looking for the artificial luxury of trendy venues, the microscopic portions of gourmet cuisine, or the artfully constructed settings for the benefit of tourists, then you'd be better off moving on. But if you're nostalgic for true tradition—the honest, sincere, and profoundly authentic kind that once characterized every corner of the Eternal City—this little treasure trove in the heart of the San Lorenzo neighborhood is undoubtedly your safe haven. Tram Tram isn't simply a restaurant where you can sit down for a quick meal, but a veritable time machine capable of transporting you to an era when food was synonymous with sharing, care, and genuine passion.
As soon as you step inside, the atmosphere is thick with a welcoming nostalgia, redolent of history, of lived-in walls, and of neighborhood gossip. The welcome is extraordinarily warm yet devoid of any unnecessary frills or pretentiousness, maintaining the proud and hospitable character befitting a true Roman osteria. Here you won't find waiters in liveries ready to recite a script, but people who love their work and who will guide you through the flavors of memory with the same ease with which one welcomes old friends into one's home.
Cooking, after all, is experienced here as a sacred ritual to be protected and passed down. Pasta is cooked rigorously "old-fashioned," respecting cooking times to the last detail, and topped with rich, dense, and extraordinarily flavorful sauces, specifically designed to warm the heart before it even fills the stomach. In every bite, you can clearly sense the presence of a skilled and devoted hand that proudly guards the culinary secrets of generations past. It's a triumph of local cuisine, where one can deeply rediscover the immense value of "la cucina povera," that extraordinary gastronomic philosophy capable of transforming the simplest and most humble raw materials into absolute delicacies of inestimable value.

Food was amazing, we had the lamb ragu and red house wine.
First, service is unbeatable. They will work with you even when they may not speak english. Bathroom is also very clean and nice.
Second, their menu is amazing. Original dishes bursting with promise. The ox tail was sold out, clearly a favorite.
Third, the prices are fair and nothing is overpriced. Cheap sides, regular meal price, and the wine is 10 per liter

Unfortunately, I have to downgrade the rating I gave a while back. The last time I visited, I happened to be near the cash register and overheard the owner utter that unpleasant question: "Do you need a receipt? Otherwise, I can give you a little discount." And no... being honest in Italy is always difficult.

A themed Roman wine shop and osteria, inspired by the tram passing by the entrance. It's family-run. The food is truly excellent, with part of the menu changing daily. Extensive wine list, and even the bitters had their own menu. Pleasant atmosphere.

A perfect experience at Tram Tram. We enjoyed several specialties, all divinely prepared and homemade. The service was very professional, efficient, and friendly. A 5/5 for this traditional restaurant, well done!
