The Modernist Casual Bistro In Trieste

Very good and quality food. It's a shame for the staff who in my opinion aren't perfectly up to par for a place like this and seem to be a bit absent.

I stayed for one night in Hotel Modernist and had breakfast at the Bistro. Excellent breakfast and good service. Professional and courteous staff. Particular environment. I will definitely go back.

Has all the ambience, professionalism and mouth-watering fusion food of a high-class restaurant, at a price point I still struggle to believe. If you want an excellent dining experience, going here is just too obvious. You can order either individual dishes (€10-15, completely reasonable sizes) or your choice of two sampling menus (€28-36, a shockingly large variety of only very slightly smaller platters). Two of us shared the bigger menu, and we were in heaven. The ceviche - served on ice - was truly brilliant, the beef was amazingly juicy and tender, the teriyaki salmon was brilliantly rare inside and seared outside, and they were even okay with changing one of the dishes for us when we asked (the menu had a different dessert, but we just had to try the matcha tiramisu). Drinks were also fantastic. We couldn't help but go there again for lunch the next day, and will definitely come again if we're ever in Trieste in the future. Only minus: The music was occasionally very slightly loud, and I am not sure the table booking here on Google works? (But they still seated us with a smile.)

The staff is wonderful and prices are chill, they even have cool ways of serving a Desert named Bomba. It was excellent, recommended for sure.

High prices, medium low everything else- the place is not great.

Locale dall’atmosfera abbastanza fredda, aperitivo deludente, accompagnato solo da patatine stantie. Personale cortese ma disattento. Non so come sia il cibo, ma per un aperitivo non lo consiglio.

In posizione centrale e con un'atmosfera straordinaria, questo bistrot offre una cucina fusion molto interessante. Straordinario il mio pollo croccante "Karaage", eccezionali le patate fritte al tartufo. Conto decisamente contenuto, buona la scelta dei vini al calice. Personale gentilissimo e altamente professionale. Ho amato molto la location.
