Tenuta di Mensanello In Colle di val d'elsa

We stayed during November 2025 one night (with breakfast included) at Tenuta di Mensanello for about €130. The estate is a beautiful slice of Tuscany: it spans around 300 hectares on the rolling hills near Siena and the Via Francigena, blending agriculture, nature and history.  The rooms were clean and well-kept, the staff friendly, and pets are welcome without an extra charge — big plus for dog-owners. What worked: • Easy access, plenty of parking. • Great location to explore places like Volterra, Siena or San Gimignano. • Pet-friendly (no surcharge) and attentive service. • The rooms in good condition. What could use improvement: • Breakfast was disappointing. The variety was limited and I expected something more of a rustic/agriturismo style: say a homemade seasonal cake or local cold cuts, rather than supermarket-style cooked ham & cheese still in the plastic tray. • The amenities in the room were minimal: just a small soap and two tiny shower gels that barely lasted one person. I’d have expected additional items like intimate cleanser or a tube of toothpaste at this price point. Overall impression: Tenuta di Mensanello has real charm thanks to its setting and friendly staff, but the breakfast experience and room amenities feel inconsistent with the nightly rate. With a bit more care in those areas it could easily merit a higher rating.

A fantastic place as a base for exploring all of Tuscany.

This small Tuscan village offers a variety of apartments spread across several farmhouses. The centerpiece of the complex is a manor house with a garden, stylishly and charmingly renovated. It offers a romantic atmosphere. Some apartments have a balcony or terrace with views of the surrounding countryside. Breakfast is served in a restaurant just a few steps away. In good weather, you can enjoy breakfast on the terrace.

This place is magical. It is so quite and stunningly beautiful. The staff is so helpful and friendly. As you walk the property the smell of fresh herbs consumes you. It is so peaceful. Our Apartment was nice & clean - with a beautiful Terrace View overlooking the rooftops and church. The food, oil, balsamic, ragu, wine, brandy and grappa is amazing! I came here for an anniversary get away with my boyfriend. He ended up proposing to me and surprising me with an engagement photo shoot on this property. This is the perfect property for a photo shoot. I can't wait to come back to Tenuta di Mensanello.

Visited as part of a tour group in between stops at Sienna and San Gimignano. Had a wine tasting and lunch which was excellent, and amazing views. Very friendly staff.

A wonderful agriturismo nestled in the Chianti hills: a place enchanting with its beauty and tranquility. The property is meticulously cared for, welcoming, and authentic, with views that alone are worth the trip. The food is simply exceptional—authentic dishes, authentic flavors, and quality ingredients. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, always smiling and ready to make every guest feel at home. A perfect experience in every way. I can't wait to return! 🌿🍷

The room was generally fine and clean, but there were a few things that soured the stay. The refrigerator didn't really work, and the hot water was only available intermittently or took an incredibly long time to arrive. Furthermore, the room was very cold because the heating wasn't working. Unfortunately, this meant that the towels didn't dry properly. A new set of towels was charged €7 – we were kindly given a new one free of charge, but the circumstances (temperature, lack of heating) should have been better considered. Breakfast on Sunday morning was also quite chaotic. Many dishes ran out quickly, and the staff were clearly overwhelmed with refilling everything in a timely manner. In fact, some items were only refilled (even the day before) after we mentioned it. We would like to highlight the staff on a positive note: Everyone was very friendly and helpful, even if the organization could have been a bit better in some areas. Overall, a rather mediocre stay with room for improvement, despite the really friendly staff.

Recommended: A quiet, old-world place in a Tuscan village where you can unwind and you're also in a convenient location in Siena. Definitely worth a try if you need to relax.

Llegamos aquí para el almuerzo como parte de un tour de vinos de la Toscana. Las vistas eran espectaculares. Estábamos sentados afuera bajo el codiciado lanai. El almuerzo fue ligero pero delicioso. Realmente disfrutamos de la pasta. La cata de vinos fue perfecta. Gran lugar para tomar una comida o como parte de un tour.

Para aquellos que no son exigentes y priorizan el precio, este es el lugar correcto. Una bodega característica y rústica con hermosa naturaleza toscana, piscina y restaurante panorámico con impresionantes vistas. Un gran apartamento con salón y dos dormitorios (con aire acondicionado en ambas habitaciones) ) , pero con poca comodidad y un mal baño. En la sala de estar, hay una encimera de cocina con una estufa, tostadora y hervidor de agua (sin microondas) , pero no hay enchufe en la pared de la encimera (! ? ). También hay un pequeño televisor (del tamaño de un monitor de ordenador) El sofá de la sala de estar es inutilizable, ya que la tapicería está gastada y prácticamente se sienta en madera dura. No hay sillón o lugar cómodo para sentarse en la habitación. La limpieza del apartamento no está incluida, pero tampoco hay materiales de limpieza disponibles, ni siquiera un desinfectante para el baño o detergente para lavavajillas. Terrible Wi - Fi. Solo es bueno para leer WhatsApp o correo electrónico. No descarga un video o una foto. El desayuno es muy débil e incompleto, y con mal servicio. Como decía, un excelente lugar, que podría ser un hotel genial y característico, tras una buena reforma o, al menos, un poco más de atención con algunos detalles, para darnos más confort. Pero tal vez ese no es realmente el objetivo de los propietarios. Tenemos que respetar esto.
