The food is absolutely divine. For vegetarians, the ravioli with sage butter is a must-eat!

I spent a few days on vacation in this small village with two other friends, and on the second evening, we decided to try this little tavern. We had a truly delicious meal and excellent service! The host, Christian, was incredibly friendly and a true highlight of the tavern, besides the food itself.

We go to the tavern every year. A wonderful place, with wonderful owners and divine, typically Tuscan food. The pappardelle with wild boar is the best I've ever eaten.

A magical place, with qualified and friendly staff and a truly delicious food. I highly recommend it. I hope my next vacation in these wonderful villages will bring me back here.

When I think of good food, I think of the whole context: the taste, the company, the service, the ambiance, the price. When you find all of this in a place within a typical Tuscan town, as delicate and charming as Casale, then you know you're in the right place: Taverna Via di Mezzo. Our Brazilian server, Beatriz, explains that the owner's mother runs the kitchen, adding how wonderful this woman is. I love restaurants like this, family-run, where everything is made with love. Then the unexpected happened: back at Vada, where we're staying, my friend realized she'd forgotten her wallet on the pew at the Casale church, where she'd left 1 Euro for the lit candle. We called the restaurant, but it was already closed. They usually close here in Italy after lunch and reopen for dinner. Anyway, moving on: can you believe Veronica called us back? Can you believe she went to the church? That she retrieved her wallet and left it at the bar next door—wall to wall—to the church? Well, as a true Brazilian born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, I'm always on the lookout for the trickery of the locals. Today, here in Tuscany, I can say that a good restaurant, like Taverna Via di Mezzo, has a price. But honesty, willingness to help, and goodwill—those are priceless. Enchanting place, magnificent atmosphere, quiet and suggestive. Exceptional dishes and wine, genuine and local. The owner always present, available and attentive, very professional person. We had a great time, pampered and with a fast service. Highly recommended

We had dinner last night, June 26, the place is really nice, well-kept and the historical architectural elements are well preserved. I ate an excellent carabaccia and tried the peposo for the first time, very good. My husband a tartare and pappardelle with wild boar ragù, all very good. The tartare was super. Prices were normal. We don't drink wine so we can't give any advice on the wine cellar's offerings. The very kind owner explained the dishes on the menu with professionalism and recommended them. If we're in the area again, we'll be back.

In un ambiente molto caldo e accogliente abbiamo consumato in famiglia un pasto alla scoperta di sapori settecenteschi collocabili nella toscana tra Pisa e Lucca. Ottimi sapori e vini d'eccellenza serviti da personale di sala elegante e ben educato. Molto accogliente anche il titolare che viene al tavolo a darti il benvenuto e a descriverti le portate.

Atmosfera accogliente, musica gustosa e a volumi piacevoli ( cosa non banale…). Cucina di livello e a prezzi consoni. Vale la pena dribblare la piazza e rotolare qualche metro giù per il vicolo. Consigliatissimo
